About the role
As a Senior QA Automation Engineer with Mobile experience, you will make an impact by driving end-to-end quality across mobile, web, and backend systems through scalable automation and modern QA practices. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality applications across multiple platforms.
In this role, you will:
· Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, mobile (iOS/Android), and backend services.
· Execute functional and integration testing across mobile, desktop (macOS/Windows), and service layers.
· Define and implement test strategies, ensuring high coverage and reliability across all platforms.
· Identify, document, and track defects while ensuring timely resolution and quality delivery.
· Collaborate across distributed teams to deliver high-quality releases in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Work model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Austin, Texas. What you need to have to be considered
· 6+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance or software engineering.
· Hands-on experience testing mobile applications and services on iOS and Android (required).
· Experience testing applications across macOS and Windows platforms.
· Strong expertise in QA automation architecture, frameworks, and best practices.
· Proven experience automating functional and integration testing across web, mobile, and backend systems.
· Proficiency in at least one of the following: Java, Python, Unix/Shell, SQL, CSS, HTML, or XML.
· Strong understanding of testing methodologies, processes, and industry-standard tools.
· Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with rapidly evolving requirements and tight deadlines.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

· Experience working in cross-platform testing environments (web, mobile, desktop, services).
· Exposure to modern CI/CD practices and DevOps-driven testing approaches.
· Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively with global teams.
· Experience delivering high-quality solutions under pressure with strong attention to detail.
· Passion for continuous improvement and innovation in testing practices.
Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477 to 92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
