Job Summary
Serve as an Infra Architect specializing in enterprise job scheduling and operations on Control M Scheduler and AS400 platforms designing resilient hybrid infrastructure solutions that optimize batch workflows enhance system stability and align with business objectives while collaborating closely with cross functional technology and operations teams.
Responsibilities
Design robust and scalable batch scheduling architectures on Control M Scheduler that support critical business services and ensure consistent on time job execution across multiple environments.Develop optimized workflows and dependency chains in Control M Scheduler that reduce processing bottlenecks and improve end to end performance for complex enterprise workloads.Oversee AS400 operations by defining operational standards monitoring strategies and housekeeping routines that enhance stability availability and operational efficiency.Coordinate with application and database teams to integrate Control M schedules with AS400 and distributed systems ensuring accurate job parameterization and reliable data handoffs.Implement governance processes for change management in schedules and operational procedures so that production environments remain stable and compliant with organizational policies.Create detailed architectural diagrams and solution documents describing batch flows infrastructure components and operational controls to support maintainability and future enhancements.Establish monitoring alerting and incident response models for Control M and AS400 operations enabling rapid identification and resolution of failures or performance degradations.Drive capacity planning and performance tuning initiatives for Control M infrastructure and AS400 jobs so that the platform can handle peak loads and future growth without disruption.Collaborate with security and compliance stakeholders to embed access controls audit trails and data protection measures into all scheduling and operational designs.Provide technical guidance to operations and support teams through runbooks knowledge articles and mentoring so that daily execution and troubleshooting are efficient and consistent.Engage with business partners to translate service level objectives and processing windows into practical scheduling patterns that minimize risk and maximize system availability.Evaluate new features of Control M and related automation tools to recommend enhancements that increase operational resilience reduce manual effort and support organizational transformation goals.Participate in problem management by conducting root cause analysis of recurring incidents and proposing architectural and process improvements that prevent reoccurrence and increase service reliability.
Qualifications
Bring strong hands on experience in designing configuring and maintaining Control M Scheduler environments including calendars dependencies notifications and recovery strategies.Demonstrate deep operational expertise in AS400 systems including batch operations system commands job monitoring and coordination with other enterprise platforms.Apply comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure components such as operating systems storage networks and middleware to design integrated and resilient scheduling architectures.Use proven experience of 12 to 15 years in infrastructure and operations roles to manage complex multi application ecosystems with a structured and pragmatic approach.Communicate technical concepts clearly to non technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively in a hybrid work model across on site and remote team members.Exhibit strong analytical and problem solving skills that support rapid diagnosis of job failures performance issues and systemic operational risks.Leverage familiarity with IT service management practices and ticketing tools to align scheduling and operations with incident change and problem processes.
Certifications Required
Preferred certifications include Control M Certified Administrator or equivalent and any AS400 or iSeries operations certification.
