Our IT department wishes to recruit a Software Engineer to join its IT Engineers (MES MTS Data Analytics Validation & Infrastructure) on a customer site in Cork.

The successful candidate will have solid software engineering fundamentals and experience in developing and supporting software solutions. The position will work within an established team that provides software support to production and business areas.

6-10 years years experience working in field preferably in GMP Environment

Responsibilities :

  • Key Responsibilities: Maintain and enhance multiple software systems ensuring high availability data integrity and compliance with pharmaceutical regulations.
  • Lead day to day activities of the team including managing system issues data issues and customer incidents and change requests.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including scientists engineers and IT staff to understand requirements and deliver system improvements.
  • Create and maintain thorough documentation covering design security testing and change protocols as well as system procedures.
  • Ensure the team consistently complies with company quality standards and practices when producing and maintaining system validation documentation.
  • Monitor system performance and take proactive steps to prevent downtime or data discrepancies.
  • Provide regular status updates and escalate major issues to relevant business areas and management.
  • Maintain and optimize existing systems to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for software related issues within manufacturing environments.
  • Manage ongoing compliance tasks such as periodic reviews audit trail reviews and access roster reviews.
  • Encourage adoption of system functionality and new technologies to improve work processes.
  • Support audits and inspections by supplying technical documentation and system insights.
  • Degree in IT or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience delivering and supporting IT software solutions.
  • Experience developing testing and deploying software using Python SQL and Java.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience along with knowledge of GMP computer system validation (CSV) and data integrity requirements. Demonstrated learning agility both technically and in understanding business processes and applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy. Strong self management skills with the initiative to identify and drive improvements.
  • Effective communicator able to build relationships across functions.
