About the Role
As a Project Manager you will make an impact by leading complex healthcare payer initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations. You will be a valued member of the delivery team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, product owners, cross-functional teams, and client leadership to drive measurable outcomes.

In This Role, You Will:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of payer domain projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, client expectations, and organizational goals.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, milestones, resource allocations, and project baselines using tools such as Microsoft Project.
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, quality standards, risks, and dependencies while proactively addressing issues and mitigating project impacts.
- Facilitate Agile and Scrum practices, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives to support iterative delivery and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with payer business stakeholders, product owners, and delivery teams to drive successful project execution and transparent stakeholder communication.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered
- 8+ years of experience managing medium to large-scale projects
- Strong expertise in project management disciplines including estimation, scheduling, scope management, risk management, quality management, and project tracking.
- Proven experience working in Agile environments, including facilitating Scrum ceremonies and managing project backlogs.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Project, including resource planning, dependency management, baseline creation, and reporting.
- Deep understanding of healthcare payer operations, including claims processing, member services, provider management, or benefits administration.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Experience leading distributed and hybrid teams while maintaining delivery excellence and operational transparency.
These Will Help You Stand Out
- PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, or related project management certifications.
- Experience managing regulatory, compliance, privacy, and security requirements within healthcare payer organizations.
- Expertise in delivering digital transformation or modernization programs in healthcare environments.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with experience presenting project insights to executive stakeholders.
- Demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives and mentoring project team members.

Compensation
The annual salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $140,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, subject to performance and applicable plan terms.
