Senior DevOps Engineer (Jenkins, Docker & Kubernetes) (Hybrid)
About the role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, implementing, and optimizing modern CI/CD solutions that enable reliable, scalable, and secure software delivery for media and entertainment platforms. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, architects, product stakeholders, and operations teams to accelerate innovation and enhance customer experiences.
In this role, you will:
- Design and implement end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Maven to support reliable, automated software delivery.
- Lead containerization and orchestration initiatives using Docker and Kubernetes to improve application scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Establish DevOps best practices, including automation, testing, monitoring, security controls, and release governance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex build, deployment, and infrastructure issues while driving continuous improvements across the software delivery lifecycle.
- Mentor engineering teams on cloud-native technologies and DevOps methodologies to strengthen technical capabilities and delivery excellence.
Work model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring up to 3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in New York, NY . What you need to have to be considered
- Strong hands-on experience with Jenkins, including pipeline development, automation, and release management.
- Extensive experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization, orchestration, deployment, and production support.
- Proficiency with Maven for build automation, dependency management, and software packaging.
- Experience implementing CI/CD best practices, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps governance processes.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues across build, deployment, and runtime environments.
- Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
These will help you stand out
- Experience supporting media and entertainment platforms, including streaming, digital content delivery, or audience-facing applications.
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and infrastructure automation practices.
- Experience implementing security, compliance, and governance controls within CI/CD environments.
- Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and performance optimization tools.
- Relevant certifications in Kubernetes, cloud platforms, or DevOps technologies.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $ 72,000 to $92,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
