About the role
Join Cognizant as a Coupa Solution Architect specializing in contract and agreement management along with source-to-pay processes across Coupa and related procurement platforms, in a hybrid work arrangement. You'll translate complex supply chain and procurement requirements into scalable, compliant technology solutions that improve procure-to-pay workflows and minimize risk, working closely with stakeholders and technical teams to support data-informed decisions during a standard day shift.
In this role, you will:
- Architect comprehensive solution designs that optimize contract/agreement management and procure-to-pay workflows through Coupa and connected procurement tools, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance requirements.
- Evaluate existing source-to-pay processes to pinpoint gaps and improvement areas, then develop scalable designs that boost efficiency and cut down on manual work.
- Partner with procurement, legal, finance, operations, and technology teams to capture detailed requirements and convert them into clear functional and technical specs for implementation.
- Configure (or oversee configuration of) Coupa modules covering sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and invoicing, ensuring consistency with enterprise policies and standardized data models.
- Support seamless data flow throughout the procure-to-pay lifecycle.
- Validate solution designs and configuration updates against architectural standards, data privacy requirements, security controls, and regulatory obligations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on contract lifecycle management—covering structures, approval workflows, and obligation tracking—to keep contract data reliable, auditable, and actionable.
Work model:
Cognizant embraces hybrid work to offer flexibility where possible. Given this role's requirements, it calls for 3-4 days per week onsite at a client or Cognizant office in Chicago, IL. Work arrangements may shift depending on the specific project and evolving business or client needs; any changes will be communicated clearly.
Working arrangements reflect current expectations as of the posting date and are subject to change based on project, business, and client factors—though role expectations will always be communicated transparently.
What you need to have to be considered
- 10-12+ years of progressive solution architecture or senior consulting experience with a strong focus on procurement and contract management platforms.
- Substantial hands-on experience building and delivering contract/agreement management solutions, including workflow setup, obligation tracking, and template standardization.
- Demonstrated expertise across supply chain procurement and procure-to-pay functions—requisitioning, sourcing, supplier onboarding, PO collaboration, and invoice processing.
- Extensive hands-on Coupa experience, including configuring core procurement modules, catalog management, and approval workflows for compliant, efficient solutions.
- Strong requirements analysis, business process mapping, and documentation skills to keep solution designs tied to stakeholder needs and measurable results.
These will help you stand out
A Coupa Certified Professional credential (or equivalent procurement platform certification) is a plus. TOGAF or a comparable architecture certification is also advantageous.
We welcome applicants who align with our mission and can contribute in diverse ways. Even if you meet only the baseline requirements, we encourage you to apply—your transferable skills and unique background may be exactly what we're looking for.
