About the role

As a ServiceNow ITOM/SOMT Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and implementing scalable ServiceNow Service Operations Management (SOMT) solutions that enhance operational visibility, automation, and service reliability across complex enterprise environments.

You will be a valued member of the ServiceNow delivery team and collaborate closely with solution architects, platform administrators, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to build innovative solutions that drive operational excellence.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, and configure ServiceNow SOMT and ITOM solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Build and enhance platform capabilities using Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Actions, UI Policies, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and Service Catalog.
  • Develop reusable components, custom applications, and technical frameworks that improve scalability and maintainability.
  • Implement and optimize CMDB and CSDM models to support enterprise service visibility and governance.
  • Configure and support Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management capabilities across large-scale environments.
  • Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems using modern integration patterns.
  • Promote ServiceNow development standards, governance practices, and technical best practices across the platform.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered

Important: Candidates must possess ALL of the certifications listed below. Only applicants meeting all certification requirements will be considered for this role.

  • 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience in enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in ServiceNow Service Operations Management (SOMT) and IT Operations Management (ITOM).
  • Extensive experience with CMDB, CSDM, Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management.
  • Proven experience developing solutions using Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Actions, UI Policies, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and Service Catalog.
  • Experience developing and supporting enterprise-grade ServiceNow integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture, development standards, and governance practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Required Certifications (All Are Mandatory)

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) - Required
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) - Required
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) - ITOM - Required

  • Experience supporting telecommunications service management environments.
  • Experience delivering complex ServiceNow ITOM implementations for large enterprises.
  • Experience with platform automation, orchestration, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Experience designing scalable enterprise integrations and reusable technical frameworks.
  • Strong communication, consulting, and stakeholder management skills.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $60,000 - $70,000 CAD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
