Microsoft Fabric Technical Architect

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Fabric Technical Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise data solutions within a large-scale analytics transformation programme.

In this role, you will provide hands-on technical leadership across Microsoft Fabric, supporting the migration of legacy analytics platforms, delivering modern data solutions, and enabling a scalable, governed self-service analytics environment. You will work closely with business stakeholders, delivery squads, and external partners to ensure solutions align with architecture standards, governance requirements, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of scalable data solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
  • Architect and implement Lakehouse, Medallion, semantic model, and Direct Lake solutions.
  • Build and optimize end-to-end data pipelines, data products, and analytics-ready datasets.
  • Drive migration of analytics workloads from legacy platforms such as SQL Server, Alteryx, Tableau, and Cognos to Microsoft Fabric.
  • Establish best practices for governance, security, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Implement CI/CD, Git-based development, and DevOps delivery practices.
  • Provide technical oversight, quality assurance, and architectural guidance across delivery teams and partners.
  • Support business users through the enablement of governed self-service analytics capabilities.

Required Experience

  • Proven hands-on experience delivering Microsoft Fabric data engineering and analytics solutions.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Data engineering and modern data platforms
    • Lakehouse and Medallion architecture
    • Data pipelines and orchestration
    • Power BI, semantic models, and Direct Lake
    • Data governance and security frameworks
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, Python, DAX, and Git-based development practices.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD, DevOps, and enterprise-scale data solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Fabric certification (DP-700 or equivalent).
  • Experience with large-scale data migration and modernization programmes.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Purview and data governance frameworks.
  • Experience working within financial services or other regulated environments.
