The SAP ABAP & Fiori Developer will be responsible for providing application development, enhancement, and advanced support services for SAP S/4HANA environments. The role includes incident and problem resolution, defect remediation, minor enhancements, and participation in application development initiatives. The associate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver stable, scalable, and high-quality SAP solutions while supporting continuous improvement and knowledge management objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide L2/L3 support for SAP ABAP and Fiori applications, including incident resolution, defect analysis, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Perform technical analysis and root cause investigation for critical and high-priority production issues.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations as required by project or business needs.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy enhancements and small-scale application development initiatives based on business requirements.
  • Develop and support SAP Fiori applications, SAPUI5 solutions, OData services, and SAP S/4HANA extensibility frameworks following clean-core and SAP best practices.
  • Analyze and resolve integration issues involving SAP and external applications, APIs, middleware platforms, and enterprise systems.
  • Support transport management, deployment activities, release coordination, and change implementation processes.
  • Collaborate with functional consultants and technical teams to resolve cross-functional and cross-application issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, service requests, changes, and development activities in approved ticketing and work management systems.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles, standard operating procedures, and knowledge transfer materials.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions, cross-training initiatives, and transition activities to strengthen team capabilities and reduce key-person dependencies.
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives through automation, code-quality improvements, process optimization, and operational excellence activities.
  • Participate in operational reviews, status meetings, and project discussions while proactively communicating risks, issues, and mitigation plans.

Work Model:

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2 to 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Sao Paulo. Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of SAP ABAP development and application support experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with SAP S/4HANA environments.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Object-Oriented ABAP
    • CDS Views
    • AMDP
    • Enhancements and BAdIs
    • Reports and Forms
    • Performance tuning and optimization tools
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 development, including:
    • Custom applications
    • Application extensions
    • Fiori Elements
    • OData Services
    • Fiori Launchpad configuration and support
  • Working knowledge of SAP ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
  • Experience supporting production environments within an Application Management Services (AMS) model.
  • Good understanding of ITIL-based support processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management.
  • Experience with service management and work-tracking tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively within distributed global teams and collaborate across multiple time zones.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), including:
    • CAP
    • Integration Suite
    • Document AI
    • React
    • TypeScript
    • Data integration technologies
  • Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA Cloud or RISE with SAP environments.
  • Knowledge of enterprise integrations involving retail, manufacturing, supply chain, or consumer goods industries.
  • SAP certification in ABAP Development, SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, or SAP S/4HANA Development.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern software engineering practices.
  • Experience with automation initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
