About the role

As a Desktop Engineer Intern, you will make an impact by providing hands-on, onsite technical support that keeps end users productive and their devices running smoothly. You will be a valued member of the internal IT support team and work collaboratively with fellow IT team members and client site staff.

In this role, you will

  • Provide onsite technical support for basic hardware-related issues with desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • Provide onsite support for printer-related issues and requests, including label printers, mobile printers, receipt printers, and toners.
  • Configure new desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals according to standard operating procedures.
  • Review the knowledge base and SOPs, update outdated SOPs for new or changing processes, and create SOPs for newly defined processes and procedures.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Hooksett, New Hampshire.

What you need to have to be considered

  • Currently attending a 2-year or 4-year accredited college or university, pursuing a STEM major.
  • Availability to work part-time, 20 hours per week (5 days a week, 4 hours a day), onsite.
  • A high level of quality and strong attention to detail.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between the HQ (14 Central Park Dr, Hooksett) and Retail (1278 Hooksett Rd, Hooksett) locations as required to perform job duties.

Start Date

The internship will last 9 months to 1 year, starting in October 2026.

Hourly rate and other compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
