ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Coordinator / Engineering Program Specialist to join our team in support of a global leader in the technology field. This is an in-office, client-facing role that requires close collaboration with the client's Hardware Engineering Program Managers. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in program coordination, cross-functional stakeholder management, direct experience in hardware engineering operations, material sourcing, and a passion for emerging technologies including augmented reality and consumer electronics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities are central to this role, though not exhaustive:
● Oversee the end-to-end allocations process, including planning, communicating with relevant Points of Contact (PoCs), following prioritization guidelines, monitoring delivery, and reviewing requests against budgets.
● Own material sourcing strategy, drive material multipliers, lead cost rollup coordination, and execute Build Purchase Orders — with direct accountability for procurement decisions and build readiness.
● Lead build matrix coordination by proactively engaging project stakeholders, understanding requirements, strategizing material usage in build configurations, and creating mitigation plans for material CTB (Clear to Build) issues — while remaining within budgeted configuration counts.
● Configure Bills of Materials (BOMs) by gathering cross-functional inputs to create detailed material lists; provide OK2Purchases and maintain BOM changes throughout the build lifecycle.
● Coordinate the pack-out process by creating packaging plans and ensuring Contract Manufacturer (CM) readiness on EPS processes.
● Ensure accurate execution of allocation plans for both Engineering and Carriers, including complex carrier selection processes and PPP allocations/borrows (TW-specific).
● Support all System EPS R&Rs during in-region and build hours (TW-specific).
● Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation and training materials.
● Drive continuous process improvements — challenge the status quo and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and add value for the client.
● Oversee material inventory and management, product schedules, Purchase Orders, configuration management, CM communications, budget tracking, and asset inventory control.
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS
● 3+ years of experience in Program Management, preferably in an Engineering environment and/or the AR/VR industry. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
● Proven hands-on experience in material sourcing, allocation planning, and build readiness — including managing CTB (Clear to Build) processes, material cost rollups, and procurement execution. Candidates with BOM data entry or change control backgrounds only will not be considered.
● Background in hardware-centric environments involving cameras, sensors, optics, lenses, microchips, or consumer electronics is strongly preferred.
● Excellent written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
● Proven experience in internal and external stakeholder management and communication.
● Ability to meet and exceed client requirements while working independently with minimal supervision.
● Strong negotiation skills aligned with business objectives.
● Exceptional time management and task prioritization skills, with the ability to thrive under aggressive deadlines.
● Genuine interest in and solid understanding of AR technology and the broader technology landscape.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who brings both operational rigor and strategic thinking to every project. They are comfortable navigating ambiguity, building strong relationships across teams and organizations, and operating at the intersection of engineering and program management. They bring direct, hands-on ownership of material sourcing, build readiness, and procurement — not just BOM maintenance or change control. Prior experience in AR/VR hardware development environments, or in consumer electronics involving cameras, sensors, optics, or microchips, is a significant advantage.
