Job Summary
- The consultant should be able to own the Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) track and drive various phases of the project such as Cloud Map, CRP, design, build, testing, cut-over and go-live support.
- Must display competency and should be able to configure the OTM modules (Order Management, Shipment Planning, Rate Management, Fleet Management, Freight Settlement, Track & Trace, Carrier Management, etc.).
- Candidate must be a problem solver with good analytical and communication skills, capable of translating complex transportation and logistics business requirements into OTM configurations.
- Candidate should work closely with offshore functional and technical teams to keep track of project deliverables, open issues, and milestone adherence across the OTM workstream.
- Candidate must own deliverables like RTM (Requirement Traceability Matrix), To-Be design, Test Scenarios, Test Scripts, DS030 (Configuration Document), AN100 (Design Document), and OTM transportation solution design specifications.
- Should work closely with logistics, supply chain, and other dependent departments and client-side roles such as Transportation Planners, Logistics Coordinators, Freight Managers, Carrier Relations Managers, and Warehouse Managers.
- Will be responsible for configuring OTM Rate Management parameters including rate records, rate offerings, rate geo-hierarchy, accessorial charges, lane-based rates, contract rates, and spot buy integration to support the client’s inbound, outbound, and inter-facility transportation lanes.
- Is responsible to work closely with the Project Manager on both Cognizant and Client sides, as well as with other functional consultants across Order Management, Procurement, Inventory, Warehouse Management, and Finance workstreams for cross-module process alignment.
- Candidate must have proven experience in handling CEMLI objects and related documents, including OTM-specific configurations such as bulk plan parameters, shipment group profiles, and custom agent-action workflows.
- Is responsible to design integrations with legacy and third-party systems such as ERP (Oracle EBS / Fusion), WMS, carrier EDI/API platforms (214, 210, 204, 990 transaction sets), customs/trade compliance systems, and telematics/GPS track & trace providers using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) or OTM’s native XML/Web Services framework.
- Is responsible for validating transportation master data migrated from legacy systems into OTM Cloud, performing data reconciliation for locations, equipment groups, carrier profiles, service provider qualifications, rate records, and lane configurations during FBDI/CSV-based data loads.
- Should be able to configure end-to-end shipment planning parameters including bulk planning, continuous move planning, shipment consolidation rules, stop sequencing, load configuration (FTL/LTL/parcel), delivery appointment scheduling, and carrier selection logic.
- Should be coordinating with the Order Management consultant for order release and shipment order creation, the Procurement consultant for inbound purchase order shipments, and the Warehouse Management consultant for shipment tendering and proof-of-delivery confirmation.
- Must be able to design OTM-related OTBI reports and BI Publisher reports as per business requirements, covering areas such as freight spend analysis, carrier on-time performance, shipment exception tracking, freight accruals, and lane cost benchmarking; validate them with users and iteratively test and deploy successfully.
- Is responsible to design and deliver customer-facing and carrier-facing documents such as Bill of Lading (BOL), Freight Invoice, Shipment Manifest, Delivery Order, Packing List, and carrier tender notifications using OTM’s document generation framework.
- Candidate will be responsible to design and deliver the “Train the Trainer” plan and schedule for all OTM module users, including Transportation Planners, Freight Managers, Carrier Relations Managers, and Finance/Freight Audit teams.
