Job Summary
Serve as a senior developer focused on Snowflake Cortex and Snowflake SQL to design optimize and deliver secure data solutions that power critical analytics in a hybrid work model. Collaborate with cross functional teams to build reliable data products that support business decisions particularly within property and casualty insurance domains.
Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable data solutions using Snowflake Cortex to support high volume analytical workloads that drive data informed decision making across the enterprise.Develop efficient Snowflake SQL queries views and stored procedures that ensure consistent performance and reliability for reporting and analytics users.Optimize data models and table structures within Snowflake to improve query response times and reduce compute consumption while maintaining accuracy and integrity.Collaborate with data engineers architects and analysts to translate complex business requirements into robust Snowflake based solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.Build reusable data pipelines and transformation logic in Snowflake that standardize data processing and improve maintainability for future enhancements.Implement secure data access patterns within Snowflake to protect sensitive information while enabling appropriate self service analytics for business stakeholders.Troubleshoot performance issues in Snowflake workloads by analyzing query plans refining logic and tuning configurations to achieve stable and predictable behavior.Document technical designs data flows and implementation details for Snowflake assets so that team members can easily maintain and extend existing solutions.Coordinate with quality assurance partners to define test scenarios validate data outputs and ensure that Snowflake based solutions meet functional and non functional expectations.Support production Snowflake environments by monitoring scheduled jobs resolving incidents and proactively addressing potential issues before they impact users.Engage with product and business teams to understand evolving analytics needs and propose Snowflake enhancements that provide additional insight and value.Apply best practices for version control code review and deployment in Snowflake projects to maintain high quality standards and reduce implementation risk.Mentor junior developers by sharing Snowflake Cortex and Snowflake SQL techniques encouraging clean coding habits and promoting continuous learning.
Qualifications
Possess professional experience of at least six years in data engineering or development roles with a strong focus on modern cloud data platforms.Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Snowflake Cortex capabilities including orchestration of complex analytical workflows and integration with enterprise data sources.Exhibit deep expertise in Snowflake SQL including window functions performance tuning and modular design of reusable query components.Show familiarity with dimensional modeling data warehousing concepts and best practices that ensure reliable and consistent analytical datasets.Display practical exposure to property and casualty insurance data such as policy claims and underwriting information even if at a conceptual level.Adapt effectively to a hybrid work model by communicating proactively managing time independently and collaborating seamlessly with distributed team members.Apply strong problem solving skills to diagnose complex data issues in Snowflake environments and deliver timely well documented resolutions.Communicate clearly with technical and non technical partners by explaining Snowflake solutions and their benefits in concise and accessible language.Maintain a continuous learning mindset by staying updated on new Snowflake features and industry trends relevant to cloud data engineering.
