About the role
As a Senior QA Analyst with Business / Integration Testing with Allegro experience , you will make an impact by bridging business requirements with quality delivery for critical trading platforms. You will be a valued member of the delivery team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, QA teams, and developers to ensure high-quality outcomes across the application lifecycle.
In this role, you will:
· Engage with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document requirements, ensuring clarity and alignment with business goals.
· Create detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and use cases to guide development and testing activities.
· Facilitate workshops and walkthroughs with cross-functional teams to drive shared understanding and early issue identification.
· Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, including functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing.
· Perform API and SQL-based validation to ensure data accuracy, system integrity, and reliable integrations.
· Log, track, and manage defects through resolution, working closely with development teams to validate fixes.
· Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and QA/delivery teams, ensuring requirements traceability and coverage.
· Provide regular updates on testing progress, defect trends, and quality metrics while championing QA best practices.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Houston, TX.

What you need to have to be considered
· Strong experience working with the Allegro application in energy trading environments.
· Proven experience in the energy and commodities trading domain.
· Solid background in both business analysis and quality assurance (BA/QA hybrid role).
· Hands-on experience with SQL and API testing for backend and integration validation.
· Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and quality processes.
· Experience gathering and documenting requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria.
· Ability to manage defect lifecycle and coordinate across cross-functional teams.
· Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
These will help you stand out
· Experience with Agile methodologies and participation in sprint ceremonies.
· Exposure to test automation frameworks or tools.
· Strong knowledge of requirements traceability and governance practices.
· Ability to work effectively in high-paced, onsite client environments.
Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477 to 92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
