We are seeking a Training Manager / Training Instructor to lead and support driver training programs. This role is responsible for delivering training, assessing performance, maintaining compliance with operational and safety requirements, and continuously improving training effectiveness. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong facilitation skills, operational knowledge, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver classroom, virtual, and practical training programs for new and existing drivers.
- Manage training logistics, including scheduling, facilities, vehicles, equipment, and training materials.
- Facilitate engaging training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques to support different learning styles.
- Deliver training on operational procedures, diagnostic guides, troubleshooting processes, mobile device configuration, laptop setup, monitoring systems, and related operational tools.
- Monitor learner progress and ensure completion of assigned learning plans through the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Evaluate participant performance through assessments, observations, and practical evaluations.
- Conduct driver certification and recertification activities, including behind-the-wheel assessments and coaching sessions.
- Provide targeted coaching and development support to address identified performance gaps.
- Ensure training programs comply with business requirements, applicable regulations, and quality management standards.
- Support safety initiatives, including incident investigations, compliance activities, and safety awareness programs.
- Review incidents, accidents, and workplace injuries to identify training opportunities and preventive actions.
- Conduct driver observations and performance reviews to promote safe and effective operating practices.
- Participate in client and operational meetings, providing training updates and recommendations as required.
- Maintain training records, certification documentation, attendance records, and assessment results.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on training activities, learner progress, and training effectiveness.
- Support inventory management and maintenance of training equipment and resources.
- Mentor and support other instructors to encourage consistency and quality in training delivery.
Collaborate with operational teams, site leadership, and stakeholders to continuously improve training programs and processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a strong driving and safety record.
- Experience delivering training, coaching, mentoring, or facilitating learning programs.
- Knowledge of transportation, logistics, fleet operations, mobility services, or similar operational environments.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and instructional skills.
- Ability to assess performance and provide constructive coaching and feedback.
- Understanding of safety, compliance, and operational procedures.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace or equivalent productivity tools.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- High attention to detail and ability to identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Flexibility to travel as business needs require.
- Ability to work flexible schedules and rotational shifts when required.
- Ability to operate vehicles in a variety of driving conditions and environments and remain seated for extended periods as required.
- Experience with autonomous vehicle operations, driver training programs, transportation, logistics, or fleet management is preferred.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles, learning management systems, and training program development is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse and collaborative team environments.
