Job Summary
Cloud engineer role responsible for designing deploying and optimizing containerized workloads and cloud native services on a major public cloud platform using tools such as containers orchestration infrastructure as code and automation. Role involves hybrid work model rotational shifts and focus on secure reliable and cost efficient platforms for business applications.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable cloud architectures that use compute services managed databases and container orchestration to support highly available business applications in a hybrid work environment
- Implement containerized solutions using container platforms and registries to ensure consistent build packaging and deployment of microservices across various environments
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code definitions to provision and update cloud resources in a repeatable auditable and version controlled manner
- Configure and optimize content delivery services and load balancing capabilities to improve application performance resilience and end user experience for global traffic
- Build and manage container orchestration clusters to support microservice based solutions while ensuring efficient scheduling resource utilization and service discovery
- Set up and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines that automate build test and deployment stages for applications and infrastructure components
- Configure and manage managed relational database services to ensure secure resilient and performant data storage for transactional and analytics workloads
- Develop automation scripts using scripting languages and programming languages to reduce manual work improve reliability and enforce configuration standards across environments
- Leverage monitoring and advisory tools to identify performance bottlenecks cost optimization opportunities and security gaps while driving remediation in collaboration with teams
- Configure and manage managed machine learning services to enable model training deployment and monitoring for data driven products that deliver value to customers and society
- Implement and maintain robust security practices using identity and access management network configurations and logging services to protect data and meet compliance expectations
- Collaborate closely with application teams operations teams and security teams to understand requirements design solutions and ensure smooth deployments without business disruption
- Provide rotational shift support for production and non production environments by troubleshooting incidents performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures
Qualifications
- Possess four to six years of hands on experience working as a cloud engineer or similar role with strong exposure to containerized applications and managed cloud services
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in container technologies and registries with practical experience in building tagging scanning and deploying images in production environments
- Exhibit hands on experience in managing compute services container services and container orchestration services including configuration of clusters node groups and networking
- Show solid knowledge of managed relational database services including backup strategies parameter tuning connectivity design and basic query optimization practices
- Display practical experience with content delivery networks and load balancing services focusing on caching strategies distribution behaviors and secure endpoint configuration
- Apply strong skills in infrastructure as code using widely adopted tools to manage cloud resources modules state handling and integration with version control platforms
- Use scripting and programming skills in scripting languages and Python to build automation for provisioning configuration management monitoring integration and operational tasks
- Bring hands on experience with continuous delivery tools and pipelines including integration with artifact repositories approval workflows and deployment strategies for containers
- Understand and apply best practices in cloud security cost management and resilience while using advisory tools and monitoring platforms to enforce standards and governance
- Prefer prior exposure to information technology operations environments including incident management change management and service level adherence processes
- Communicate clearly with cross functional stakeholders document solutions in detail and follow established processes while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
- Adopt a mindset that focuses on reliability efficiency and sustainability so that platforms support business goals and have a positive impact on customers and broader society
Certifications Required
Any one of the following certifications is preferred AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional or Certified Kubernetes Administrator
