About the role
As a Senior Test Automation Engineer with Playwright, you will make an impact by driving quality engineering initiatives through scalable test automation solutions, robust API testing, and end-to-end quality assurance practices. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, product owners, business analysts, DevOps engineers, and global delivery teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
In this role, you will:
· Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright and other automation technologies.
· Develop and execute automated API, UI, regression, integration, and end-to-end test suites to ensure application quality and reliability.
· Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
· Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and other DevOps platforms.
· Perform backend validation and data integrity testing using SQL while supporting defect triage, test reporting, quality metrics, and release validation activities.

What you need to have to be considered
· 6+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with strong expertise in test planning, test design, defect management, risk assessment, and end-to-end validation.
· hands-on test automation experience, including experience with Playwright.
· Experience with additional automation frameworks and tools beyond Playwright.
· Strong experience in API testing and automation using tools and frameworks such as Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent.
· Proficiency in SQL with the ability to create complex queries, perform backend testing, validate data integrity, and analyze test results.
· Experience working within Agile development teams using BDD methodologies and tools such as Cucumber.
· Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools including GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and related DevOps practices.
· Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
· Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-scale automation frameworks.
· Strong understanding of functional, integration, regression, API, UI, and end-to-end testing approaches.
· Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work effectively within a distributed onsite-offshore delivery model.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477 to 92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
