About the role
As a Data Integration Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise system integrations and data platform solutions that enable seamless data exchange across business-critical applications. You will be a valued member of the Data & Integration team and work collaboratively with the Chief Data Office, business stakeholders, vendor partners, and technical teams to deliver scalable and reliable integration capabilities.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and support system integrations and APIs across enterprise platforms and third-party vendor solutions.
- Build and optimize data pipelines that ensure data quality, reliability, governance, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with the Chief Data Office and cross-functional teams to resolve integration challenges and support evolving business requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Create technical documentation, knowledge-sharing materials, and transition plans to support long-term maintainability and operational success.

What you need to have to be considered
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise system integrations and API-based solutions.
- Strong expertise with data platforms, including data pipelines, data quality management, and data governance practices.
- Experience supporting large-scale integration initiatives in complex enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues across distributed systems.
- Experience creating technical documentation and leading knowledge transfer activities.
- Hands-on experience using AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Windsurf, or similar productivity and automation solutions.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly and effectively within evolving project environments.

- Experience supporting vendor integration or digital transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with enterprise data architecture and modern integration patterns.
- Experience working closely with data governance, analytics, or Chief Data Office organizations.
- Knowledge of cloud-based integration and data platform technologies.
- Experience operating within large-scale corporate or consulting environments.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $95,000 - $110,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
