About the role
As a Technical Senior Developer – you will make an impact by leading the design, configuration, and delivery of InsuranceNow solutions across underwriting, claims, billing, and product configurations. You will be a valued member of the delivery team and work collaboratively with Product Management, Business Analysts, Architecture, QA, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality insurance platform solutions.
In this role, you will:
Build scalable and secure cloud-native solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards
Lead end-to-end development and configuration of Guidewire InsuranceNow , including rate filings, product versioning, and underwriting rules
Design and implement scalable solutions using Java, Spring microservices, cloud technologies, and RESTful APIs
Own technical quality, including code reviews, defect resolution strategy, unit testing standards, and release readiness
Lead code development, reviews, and performance optimization to ensure high-quality deliverables
Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and drive clarity in ambiguous scenarios

What you need to have to be considered
12+ years in IT
7+ years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance systems
5+ years of hands-on experience with Guidewire InsuranceNow
Strong expertise in Java, Spring microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-based architectures
Experience with claims, billing, ratebook/pricing configuration, and business rules setup
Solid understanding of Personal and Commercial Lines, including Underwriting, Claims, and Billing domains
Demonstrated experience leading small delivery teams or Agile pods
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
These will help you stand out
Familiarity with InsuranceNow API integrations
Experience working in Agile, pod-based delivery models
Exposure to distributed or vendor team environments
Proven ability to mentor team members and contribute to succession planning
Note: Certain roles may require candidates to attend in-person interviews at Cognizant offices or client locations, depending on project requirements.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is Between $66,896 to $132,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
