About the role
As a Product Owner – Generative AI Solutions, you will make an impact by defining the vision, strategy, and delivery roadmap for enterprise Generative AI products that drive measurable business value. You will be a valued member of the AI Solutions team and work collaboratively with client stakeholders, business leaders, data scientists, engineers, QA teams, and DevOps professionals to deliver innovative and responsible AI-powered solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Own and drive the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for Generative AI solutions, including intelligent assistants, chatbots, summarization tools, and other AI-enabled products.
- Partner with business stakeholders and client teams to identify opportunities, define use cases, and align product outcomes with business objectives.
- Translate business requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements for AI-driven solutions.
- Prioritize product backlogs based on business value, technical feasibility, risk, and dependencies, ensuring maximum impact and successful delivery.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, QA, and DevOps, to deliver scalable, high-quality AI products.
- Evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs to ensure accuracy, relevance, fairness, and alignment with business expectations.
- Promote Responsible AI practices by ensuring compliance with data privacy, security, governance, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, demonstrations, and retrospectives, while providing guidance and direction to delivery teams.
- Monitor product performance, user adoption, and key success metrics to drive continuous improvement and product optimization.

What you need to have to be considered:
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Strong understanding of Generative AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, embeddings, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex business challenges into scalable AI-enabled products and features.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams consisting of software engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, QA, and DevOps professionals.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and client-facing skills with the ability to influence decision-making.
- Knowledge of Responsible AI principles, AI governance frameworks, and data privacy best practices.
- Experience with Agile and product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills focused on delivering measurable business value.
These will help you stand out
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale AI or machine learning products.
- Familiarity with cloud-based AI platforms such as Microsoft Azure AI, AWS AI/ML, or Google Cloud AI.
- Certifications in Product Ownership, Agile methodologies, or AI-related technologies.
- Experience defining and tracking AI performance metrics, adoption KPIs, and business outcome measurements.
- Knowledge of emerging trends, best practices, and innovations within the Generative AI ecosystem.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until July 26, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $ 130,000 - $ 155,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
