Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Lead .NET Developer to take full ownership of a business-critical application. You will drive the solution from architecture and design through development, deployment, and ongoing production support. As the technical lead, you will set the standard for code quality, guide design decisions, and act as the primary point of contact for the application.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you are expected to contribute code daily, perform code reviews, mentor developers, and provide technical direction while maintaining close engagement with customers and stakeholders. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will regularly explain technical concepts and solution decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences in Dutch and English.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the full application lifecycle, including architecture, development, deployment, support, and continuous improvement.
• Lead the design and architecture of the application, translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions.
• Develop clean, maintainable, high-quality, and well-tested applications using C# and .NET technologies.
• Perform code reviews, establish coding standards, and promote engineering best practices across the team.
• Mentor and support developers, providing technical leadership and guidance.
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to enable reliable and automated software delivery.
• Design, deploy, and manage cloud-native and cloud-hosted solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Develop modern, responsive user interfaces using Blazor.
• Design, optimize, and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Provide end-to-end production support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution.
• Collaborate closely with customers, stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across development, deployment, and operational processes.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the application and its stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
• Extensive knowledge of C#, including advanced language features, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
• Extensive expertise with the .NET platform (.NET and .NET Core) for enterprise-grade application development.
• Strong experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Practical experience developing modern web applications using Blazor.
• Solid knowledge of SQL Server, including database design, performance optimization, querying, and maintenance.
• Proven capability to provide technical leadership, guide architectural decisions, and mentor development teams.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, application architecture, and development best practices.
Preferred Skills
• Experience owning and supporting applications throughout their complete production lifecycle.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and quality engineering practices.
• Knowledge of DevOps culture, processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing engineering talent.
• Understanding of cloud-native architecture and modern software delivery practices.
Working Arrangement
This is a hybrid position based in Utrecht, Netherlands. The successful candidate will work on-site at the customer’s office a minimum of two days per week, with the remaining days available for remote work. Regular on-site presence is essential to support close collaboration with the customer, stakeholders, and project teams.
