About the role
As a Salesforce Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, customizing, and supporting scalable Salesforce solutions that meet business and client requirements. You will work closely with administrators, business analysts, QA teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into reliable technical solutions.

In this role, you will
· Build and customize Salesforce applications using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and declarative Salesforce tools.
· Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems using APIs, middleware, ETL tools, platform events, and established integration patterns.
· Design technical solutions that align with Salesforce best practices, scalability requirements, security standards, and governor limit considerations.
· Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code; perform unit testing and participate in peer reviews to ensure quality delivery.
· Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing Salesforce implementations to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
· Partner with administrators, business analysts, QA teams, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
· Support DevOps practices, including version control, release management, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment activities.
What you need to have to be considered
· 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components.
· Strong experience with Salesforce integrations, APIs, platform events, custom integrations, and Salesforce customization.
· Solid understanding of the Salesforce data model, security model, sharing rules, and governor limits.
· Experience designing and implementing Salesforce API and integration patterns with external systems.
· Ability to build scalable Salesforce applications using both programmatic and declarative tools.
· Experience writing unit tests, supporting peer code reviews, and following development best practices.
· Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and release management processes.
· Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
These will help you stand out
· Experience with Marketo, Allego, or similar sales and marketing technology integrations.
· Experience with custom Salesforce integrations involving middleware, ETL platforms, or event-driven architecture.
· Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I, Platform Developer II, or related certifications.
· Experience supporting enterprise Salesforce environments with multiple stakeholders and integration points.
Compensation and benefits
The salary range for this position is between $[XX,XXX] – $[XX,XXX] per year, depending on relevant education, work experience, management experience, and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
