As an MES Senior Consultant / Engineer, you will make an impact by serving as the critical link between SAP S/4HANA and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ensuring seamless integration, testing readiness, data alignment, and successful MES upgrade initiatives. You will be a valued member of the Manufacturing Digital Transformation team and work collaboratively with SAP program teams, manufacturing stakeholders, MES vendors, solution architects, quality teams, and shop-floor operations to deliver reliable and scalable manufacturing solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Lead MES upgrade assessments, evaluating system capabilities, integrations, performance, scalability, and upgrade readiness while providing executive-level recommendations and implementation roadmaps.
- Serve as the primary liaison between SAP S/4HANA and MES teams, coordinating testing schedules, data creation activities, issue escalation, and cross-functional program alignment.
- Drive SAP-to-MES integration activities, ensuring reliable data flows for production orders, material management, shop-floor reporting, genealogy, traceability, quality, and batch/serial management processes.
- Partner with architects and business stakeholders to define integration strategies, governance standards, master data alignment, and end-to-end manufacturing process solutions.
- Plan and support testing, cutover, production readiness, and deployment activities to ensure successful delivery of integrated SAP and MES solutions across manufacturing sites.

What you need to have to be considered
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Werum PAS-X, Körber MES, or equivalent Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Strong expertise in MES administration, configuration, assessment, upgrade planning, and lifecycle management.
- Experience integrating MES solutions with SAP environments, including SAP S/4HANA and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of SAP manufacturing modules, including PP/DS, PP-PI, EWM/IM, PM, Batch Management, and Serial Number Management.
- Experience supporting SAP-MES integrations using APIs, IDocs, middleware, event-driven architecture, or related integration technologies.
- Experience leading end-to-end testing activities, including System Integration Testing (SIT), End-to-End testing, interface validation, and production readiness.
- Knowledge of manufacturing master data including materials, BOMs, routings, recipes, work centers, resources, and production versions.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and program coordination skills.
- Experience managing risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID) within large transformation programs.
- Ability to produce executive summaries, recommendations, and strategic upgrade roadmaps.

- Experience within Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Medical Device manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of GMP-regulated manufacturing processes and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.
- Experience with multi-site manufacturing deployments and global template rollouts.
- Familiarity with manufacturing data governance, traceability, genealogy, and quality management processes.
- Experience with MES vendor release assessments and upgrade readiness evaluations.
- SAP or MES-related certifications.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $90,000 - $105,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
