Job Summary
This hybrid Test Lead role for a global payer focused organization involves owning end to end testing strategy and execution for complex web services and API solutions using Agile methodologies. The Test Lead will coordinate test planning design execution and defect management across SQL based backends and payer domain workflows ensuring high quality releases that enhance member and provider experiences while supporting business growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive test planning activities for payer domain applications by defining clear test objectives scope timelines and resource needs to ensure reliable delivery of high quality features in a hybrid work model.
- Oversee design of detailed test scenarios and test cases for web services testing and API testing by translating business and technical requirements into robust validation steps that cover functional integration and end to end workflows.
- Provide direction on using Postman SoapUI and Rest API tools to create execute and maintain automated and manual test suites that validate request response structures status codes and data integrity across environments.
- Drive execution of API and web services tests with strong SQL based data validation by querying relational databases to confirm data consistency transaction accuracy and proper handling of payer specific rules.
- Coordinate defect identification triage and retesting by working closely with developers business analysts and product owners to prioritize issues that have the highest impact on member and provider journeys.
- Guide Agile testing ceremonies such as backlog refinement sprint planning daily standups and sprint reviews by providing risk based testing insights and aligning test efforts with sprint goals and release milestones.
- Ensure test assets including test cases test data and API collections are structured reusable and well documented to support ongoing regression testing and smooth onboarding of new team members.
- Collaborate with architecture and development teams to review service contracts payload structures and error handling approaches so that test coverage anticipates edge cases and performance constraints in payer systems.
- Monitor test progress and quality metrics by preparing concise reports on test execution status defect trends and readiness indicators that support informed release decisions by stakeholders.
- Implement and refine test processes that improve efficiency and reliability by introducing practical best practices in Agile testing environment usage and data management tailored to payer program needs.
- Support production readiness and post release validation activities by planning smoke tests health checks and targeted API validations that reduce risk of defects impacting claims processing and customer service.
- Mentor team members on best practices for API testing SQL validation and web services tools usage by providing constructive feedback and sharing practical examples from payer domain scenarios.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams in English for both written and spoken communication by ensuring clear documentation issue descriptions and test evidence that facilitate quick understanding and resolution.
Qualifications
- Display strong experience in Agile methodologies by applying iterative delivery continuous feedback and collaborative planning techniques throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Exhibit deep hands on expertise in web services testing and API testing using Postman SoapUI and Rest API tools to validate complex service integrations.
- Demonstrate advanced SQL skills through the ability to design and execute queries that verify transactional accuracy data transformations and audit trails in payer systems.
- Bring proven payer domain knowledge by understanding claims flows eligibility checks benefits determination and regulatory constraints relevant to health plan operations.
- Show capability to work effectively in a hybrid model and day shift by managing time collaboration and coordination across onsite and remote activities without requiring travel.
- Communicate clearly in English for read write and speak capabilities by producing well structured test documentation and engaging constructively with global stakeholders.
Certifications Required
Preferred certifications include ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst or Certified Agile Tester and any recognized API testing or SQL professional credential.
