About the Role
As a Consulting Manager – Utilities Data & AI Transformation, you will make an impact by helping utility clients unlock business value through data modernization, AI-powered decision-making, and digital transformation initiatives. You will combine deep utilities domain expertise with modern data platform capabilities, leveraging Palantir Foundry and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) technologies to drive measurable business outcomes.
You will be a valued member of Cognizant Consulting's Utilities & Energy practice and work collaboratively with business leaders, technology teams, client stakeholders, and cross-functional consulting teams.
In this role, you will:
- Lead end-to-end transformation programs across utility business functions, leveraging expertise in Meter-to-Cash (M2C), Customer Analytics, Outage Analytics, revenue assurance, customer experience, and grid reliability.
- Design and implement ontology-driven enterprise data models within Palantir Foundry by defining object types, link types, and action types to support operational and analytical use cases.
- Architect and manage scalable data pipelines utilizing Foundry's data layer, ensuring data quality, governance, lineage, schema evolution, and reliable transformation processes.
- Build and operationalize AI-powered solutions using Palantir AIP capabilities, including Agents, Assist, Automate, Logic, and function-backed workflows that drive measurable business value.
- Partner with executive stakeholders and business teams to translate complex utility challenges into scalable data, analytics, and AI solutions aligned to strategic business objectives.
Work Model
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this position requires 3–4 days per week in a Cognizant or client office in Houston, Texas, with flexibility to work remotely on the remaining days.

What You Must Have to Be Considered
- 8–15 years of experience in utilities, consulting, data engineering, analytics, or digital transformation programs.
- Strong knowledge of utility business processes, including billing operations, customer engagement, Meter-to-Cash (M2C), outage management, and customer analytics.
- Hands-on experience implementing solutions using Palantir Foundry, including ontology development, data products, data pipelines, and Foundry applications.
- Experience building and deploying enterprise AI solutions utilizing AIP, GenAI technologies, agents, workflow automation, and prompt engineering frameworks.
- Strong understanding of data governance, lineage, data quality management, and enterprise-scale data architecture.
- Proven experience leading client-facing engagements and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business, or a related field.
These Will Help You Succeed
- Experience within electric, gas, water, or renewable energy utilities.
- Expertise with Foundry applications such as Pipeline Builder, Code Repositories, Code Workbook, Contour, Object Explorer, Workshop, Quiver, and Slate.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with AI evaluation frameworks, LLM orchestration, tool/function integration, and responsible AI practices.
- Experience delivering large-scale digital transformation initiatives for Fortune 500 utility organizations.
- Master's degree in a related discipline.

Compensation
Salary and compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, geographic location, and market conditions.
For positions located in the United States, Cognizant offers a competitive compensation package that includes base salary and eligibility for performance-based incentives where applicable.
