GeoSpatial Developer DotNet responsible for designing developing and optimizing enterprise grade geospatial solutions using VB Net MS ACCESS and Excel VBA in a hybrid work model. Role involves building robust data processing workflows integrating mapping features into business applications and ensuring high performance and reliability. Position requires strong communication in English and collaboration with cross functional teams.
Responsibilities
Design and develop geospatial applications using VB Net and related frameworks to deliver robust location aware business solutions that align with client and organizational objectivesImplement efficient data access layers using MS ACCESS to manage spatial and tabular datasets with a strong focus on data quality consistency and maintainabilityBuild Excel VBA and macro based tools to automate data preparation reporting and analytical workflows to reduce manual effort and improve accuracyIntegrate geospatial functionality with existing enterprise systems by creating reusable services and components that ensure consistent behavior and predictable performanceOptimize application performance by profiling code refining algorithms and tuning database queries to handle large geospatial datasets with minimal latencyCreate intuitive user interfaces for map visualization spatial search and reporting features so that end users can explore and interpret geospatial insights with easeCollaborate with business stakeholders and analysts to translate functional requirements into detailed technical designs that reflect realistic constraints and long term maintainabilityReview existing codebases and data models to identify technical debt and improvement opportunities and then implement structured refactoring strategies that reduce risk and improve clarityDevelop automated validation checks and logging mechanisms that trace geospatial data flows end to end and support faster root cause analysis during incident investigationPrepare detailed technical documentation including solution design notes configuration specifications and operational guides to support knowledge sharing and onboarding of future team membersSupport day to day issue resolution by investigating defects in geospatial applications and data pipelines and by delivering timely fixes that minimize business disruptionCoordinate with quality assurance teams to define test cases for geospatial processing logic and user workflows and to ensure that regression risks are addressed before deploymentAlign development practices with organizational security and compliance standards by following secure coding guidelines and appropriate access control measures for all data assetsProvide mentoring to junior engineers by reviewing their code demonstrating good practices for VB Net MS ACCESS and Excel VBA and encouraging a culture of continuous improvementEngage in continuous learning of modern geospatial concepts dotnet ecosystem updates and automation tools to keep solutions current and beneficial for clients and communities
Qualifications
Demonstrate eight to twelve years of hands on experience in designing and implementing applications on the dotnet platform with a primary focus on VB Net development for business solutionsExhibit strong proficiency with MS ACCESS including relational design query optimization and integration with dotnet applications for storage and retrieval of spatial and non spatial dataShow advanced capability in Excel macros and VBA for building automation scripts complex reports and data transformation routines that complement geospatial workflowsApply solid understanding of core geospatial concepts such as coordinates projections layers and spatial relationships to design accurate and meaningful mapping featuresUse proven experience in hybrid work environments to collaborate effectively across locations using modern communication and development tools while maintaining productivity and accountabilityDemonstrate excellent communication skills in English for reading writing and speaking to interact confidently with stakeholders document solutions and participate in reviewsDisplay strong problem solving skills and analytical thinking with the ability to break down complex geospatial and data integration challenges into manageable tasks with clear outcomesMaintain familiarity with software engineering practices such as source control structured testing and documentation to ensure reliability and traceability of all delivered solutions
