About the Role
As a Software Test Lead , you will make an impact by driving quality engineering initiatives through scalable test automation and team leadership. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with product owners, developers and business stakeholders
In This Role, You Will:
· Project Coordination & Ownership:
o Act as the primary point of contact for the project across all testing-related matters
o Serve as the main coordination liaison with different partner teams and workstreams, ensuring alignment on timelines, scope, and deliverables
o Act as the primary escalation point for any testing-related concerns, driving timely resolution
· Team Leadership & Mentorship:
o Support and encourage Test Analysts to communicate directly with business and development partners as their confidence and experience grow
o Provide guidance, coaching, and technical direction to the testing team
o Foster a collaborative environment that builds team capability and ownership
· Business & Domain Understanding:
o Develop and maintain a strong understanding of business processes, workflows, and key business metrics
o Translate business requirements into effective test strategies and test coverage
o Identify risk areas from a business impact perspective and prioritize testing accordingly
· Hands-On Testing:
o Design, review, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts
o Perform functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing as needed
o Identify, log, and track defects through resolution
o Ensure test environments and data are appropriately managed
· Reporting & Governance:
o Provide regular status updates to HNA Management, including progress, risks, issues, and quality metrics
o Prepare and present test summary reports, dashboards, and metrics to stakeholders
o Ensure testing documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready

What You Need to Have to Be Considered
· Minimum 8 to 12 years of experience in software testing/QA, with prior experience in a Test Lead role
§ Strong hands-on experience with test planning, execution, and defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM, Azure DevOps).
§ Solid understanding of SDLC/STLC and various testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
§ Experience coordinating with cross-functional and partner teams in a matrixed environment.
§ Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and escalation-handling skills.
§ Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand business processes and metrics.
§ Experience mentoring or leading a team of test analysts/engineers.
§ Strong knowledge of financial transaction flows and experience in following R&R, based in Torrance.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $53,477– $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
