Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Vulnerability Management Engineer to support enterprise vulnerability assessment, remediation coordination, security tooling administration, and risk-based prioritization. This role will identify and validate security weaknesses across infrastructure, cloud, application, network, database, and endpoint environments. The engineer will collaborate with technology teams to drive timely remediation and provide stakeholders with actionable visibility into security exposure. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on vulnerability management expertise with strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder coordination skills.

In this role, you will:
· Conduct authenticated and unauthenticated vulnerability scans across servers, endpoints, networks, databases, cloud platforms, and applications.
· Analyze scan results, validate vulnerabilities, eliminate false positives, and assess potential business and security impact.
· Prioritize vulnerabilities using CVSS, exploitability, threat intelligence, asset criticality, data sensitivity, and business context.
· Coordinate remediation activities with infrastructure, application, cloud, endpoint, and operations teams while tracking closure against established SLAs.
· Support urgent response efforts for critical vulnerabilities, actively exploited weaknesses, and zero-day threats.
· Administer vulnerability management platforms, including scanning policies, asset groups, dashboards, integrations, and reporting templates.
· Review remediation plans, compensating controls, exception requests, and risk acceptance documentation.
· Integrate vulnerability management tools with ServiceNow VR, CMDB, ITSM, ticketing, and reporting platforms.
· Develop operational and executive dashboards, KPI/KRI metrics, remediation reports, and security exposure trend analyses.
· Support audits, compliance reviews, governance activities, and automation initiatives across the vulnerability management lifecycle.
What you need to have to be considered
· 5–10 years of cybersecurity experience, including at least 3 years in Vulnerability Management, Security Operations, or Cyber Risk Management.
· Strong hands-on experience with vulnerability assessment, remediation tracking, exposure analysis, and risk-based prioritization.
· Experience administering tools such as Tenable.io, Tenable.sc, Qualys VMDR, Rapid7 InsightVM, ServiceNow Vulnerability Response, Wiz, Prisma Cloud, or Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management.
· Strong knowledge of CVE, CWE, CVSS, threat intelligence, exploitability analysis, patch management, and vulnerability remediation practices.
· Experience coordinating remediation across enterprise infrastructure, cloud, application, network, database, and endpoint environments.
· Proficiency in security reporting, KPI/KRI development, SLA tracking, and executive-level dashboard creation using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
· Familiarity with ITSM, CMDB, Jira, ServiceNow, security governance, regulatory compliance, and audit-support processes.
· Knowledge of automation and scripting using Python, PowerShell, Bash, APIs, or similar technologies is preferred.
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
· Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, Qualys VMDR Specialist, Tenable Certified Professional, GSEC, GPEN, or CEH are preferred.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $[134,000 - 154,500] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
