Agentic AI Engineer (Azure AI & Integration)

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Agentic AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy next-generation AI-powered solutions leveraging Azure AI services, enterprise integrations, and cloud-native architectures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building intelligent agent-based applications that can reason, orchestrate workflows, integrate with enterprise systems, and deliver business outcomes through Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) patterns.
This role requires a strong background in backend engineering, API development, Azure cloud services, DevOps, and Generative AI technologies such as Azure OpenAI and AI Foundry.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop Agentic AI solutions using Azure OpenAI, AI Foundry, and enterprise AI services.
- Build scalable microservices and REST APIs using Node.js.
- Develop AI-powered workflows capable of reasoning, task orchestration, and external tool integration.
- Integrate AI agents with enterprise platforms including ServiceNow, Jira, Microsoft Graph, and other third-party systems.
- Implement Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) patterns, governance controls, and auditability mechanisms.
- Design secure and scalable cloud-native architectures using Azure services.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and product teams to translate business requirements into AI-driven solutions.
- Build CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments using GitHub Actions.
- Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and Azure Entra ID.
- Ensure solution performance, security, observability, and operational excellence.
- Contribute to AI engineering standards, reusable frameworks, accelerators, and best practices.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
The annual salary for this position is between $11000 - $125,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
