Technical Lead (.NET Core & GCP)
About the role
As a Technical Lead, you will make an impact by leading the design, development, and delivery of scalable cloud-native applications that support critical business operations. You will be a valued member of the engineering team, working collaboratively with architects, product owners, client stakeholders, and cross-functional development teams to drive technical excellence and successful project delivery.

In this role, you will:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, secure, and resilient backend services using C# and .NET Core.
- Provide technical leadership for cloud-native application development on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Drive the implementation of microservices-based architectures and containerized solutions using Kubernetes and related technologies.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Oversee code reviews, unit testing, performance optimization, deployment activities, and production support.
- Guide the adoption of engineering best practices, design principles, and coding standards across the development team.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts across development, testing, and production environments to ensure service reliability and availability.
- Mentor and coach development teams while supporting Agile delivery practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work model

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week in a client office in Issaquah, Washington or Dallas, Texas. Qualified remote candidates may also be considered based on business needs. What you need to have to be considered
- 10+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications using C# and .NET Core.
- Strong experience developing APIs and microservices-based applications in cloud environments.
- Hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services such as GKE, Cloud Run, App Engine, Spanner, Firestore, and Pub/Sub.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proven experience with application deployment, CI/CD practices, code reviews, unit testing, and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and secure application development practices.
- Experience leading technical teams, mentoring developers, and collaborating with stakeholders in Agile environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
These will help you stand out
- Experience with GitHub Actions and modern DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Apigee API Management and enterprise integration patterns.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with Kafka or other messaging and event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience with observability tools, including Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Cloud Trace.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as Gemini and modern cloud engineering platforms.
- Experience working within Scrum teams in large enterprise environments.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $ 91,000 to $ 150,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
