Sr. Java Application Support Lead (Production Support)
About the role
As a Senior Java Application Support Lead, you will make an impact by leading the support, stability, and continuous improvement of business-critical enterprise applications. You will be a valued member of the application services team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, development teams, infrastructure teams, and offshore support resources to ensure operational excellence and service reliability.

In this role, you will:
- Lead production support activities for enterprise Java applications, ensuring system stability, availability, and performance.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for production incidents and drive timely resolution of application issues.
- Partner with offshore teams to manage incident response, defect resolution, and ongoing support activities.
- Deliver minor application enhancements, releases, and production deployments while ensuring compliance with established quality standards.
- Drive service delivery excellence through governance, operational reviews, SLA management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Boston, Massachusetts. What you need to have to be considered
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong experience supporting and maintaining enterprise Java-based applications in a production environment.
- Proven expertise in incident management, problem management, root cause analysis, and production troubleshooting.
- Experience delivering application enhancements, defect fixes, testing activities, and production deployments.
- Ability to manage stakeholder communications, customer escalations, and service delivery metrics.
- Experience working with ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management.
- Strong leadership experience coordinating distributed or offshore support teams.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience managing batch processing, integrations, and middleware technologies.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $ 65,000 to $ 93,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
