About the Role
As a Sr. Consulting Manager, Healthcare Claims Product Owner, you will make an impact by leading healthcare claims transformation initiatives and serving as the critical link between business stakeholders and technology delivery teams. You will leverage your expertise in healthcare claims operations, payer administration, and product management to define product strategy, prioritize business needs, and deliver scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency and member/provider experiences.
You will be a valued member of the Healthcare Consulting team and work collaboratively with claims operations leaders, business stakeholders, system integration teams, configuration teams, quality assurance teams, implementation partners, and client stakeholders to successfully execute strategic healthcare transformation programs.
In This Role, You Will:
- Serve as the Product Owner for healthcare claims initiatives, managing product vision, roadmap, and backlog prioritization while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Lead requirements discovery workshops and collaborate with business, claims operations, and technology stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and transformation.
- Translate business requirements into user stories, features, epics, and acceptance criteria for Agile delivery teams.
- Provide subject matter expertise across the healthcare claims lifecycle, including claims intake, adjudication, pricing, reimbursement, provider contracts, authorizations, payments, appeals, and exception management.
- Partner closely with development, quality assurance, configuration, and integration teams throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Facilitate backlog grooming, sprint planning, stakeholder reviews, user acceptance testing, and release readiness activities.
- Analyze current-state and future-state claims processes and recommend enhancements that improve accuracy, compliance, efficiency, and customer experience.
- Ensure end-to-end traceability of business requirements from concept through implementation and production deployment.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize enhancements, manage competing demands, and support product roadmap planning.
- Support production issue analysis, defect triage, root cause investigation, and continuous improvement initiatives related to healthcare claims operations.

What You Must Have to Be Considered
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of experience within healthcare payer organizations, healthcare consulting, or healthcare technology environments.
- Deep expertise across the end-to-end healthcare claims lifecycle, including:
- Claims intake and validation
- Benefits and eligibility verification
- Claims adjudication
- Pricing and reimbursement
- Provider contracts
- Prior authorizations
- Claims payments and adjustments
- Appeals and grievances
- Coordination of Benefits (COB)
- Experience serving as a Product Owner, Lead Business Analyst, Claims SME, or similar leadership role supporting healthcare transformation initiatives.
- Strong experience creating and managing product backlogs, user stories, epics, features, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, testing support, and release management activities.
- Ability to effectively engage, influence, and collaborate with business, operational, and technical stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
These Will Help You Succeed
- Experience with the FACETS Claims Module, including claims configuration, adjudication processing, pricing, edits, workflows, and claims operations.
- Experience supporting FACETS implementation, migration, upgrade, or modernization initiatives.
- Strong understanding of healthcare payer operations, including enrollment, benefits administration, provider management, and claims processing.
- Experience with healthcare EDI transactions, including 837, 835, and related claims processing standards.
- Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments utilizing Jira or similar product management tools.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and CMS guidelines.
- Experience supporting large-scale claims transformation, platform modernization, or digital healthcare initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- FACETS Claims Module experience strongly preferred.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe POPM, Agile Product Owner, or related Agile/Product Management certification.
Experience working with healthcare payer clients in consulting engagements.

Compensation
$110,000 - $158,500 annually
The annual salary for this position will be determined based on experience, skills, geographic location, and other business considerations.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
