Senior Developer – Snowflake Cortex AI / Generative AI
About the role
As a Senior Developer – Snowflake Cortex AI / Generative AI, you will make an impact by designing and delivering enterprise-scale AI solutions that accelerate business innovation through intelligent automation, advanced analytics, and agentic AI capabilities. You will be a valued member of the Data & AI team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, architects, data engineers, and AI specialists to build scalable and secure AI-powered applications using Snowflake Cortex AI and modern cloud technologies.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and deploy enterprise AI solutions utilizing Snowflake Cortex AI, Cortex Agents, Cortex Search, and Cortex Analyst.
- Build and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, semantic models, and AI-powered analytics capabilities that enable business self-service and intelligent decision-making.
- Develop agentic AI applications that leverage multi-agent orchestration, autonomous task execution, tool integration, and advanced reasoning frameworks.
- Integrate leading foundation models and large language models (LLMs) into business applications while ensuring scalability, security, governance, and compliance.
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to translate requirements into production-ready AI solutions and mentor developers on best practices for Generative AI development.

What you need to have to be considered
- 12+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics, Software Engineering, AI, or related technology disciplines.
- 4+ years of experience building Generative AI and LLM-powered applications.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex AI capabilities.
- Strong expertise in Snowflake Architecture, Snowpark Python, Cortex AI, Cortex Agents, Cortex Search, Cortex Analyst, and Cortex AI SQL functions.
- Experience developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, vector search architectures, semantic models, and AI-driven analytics platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, agent orchestration, multi-agent systems, and AI application development.
- Hands-on development experience with Python, REST APIs, FastAPI, Flask, LangChain, and LangGraph.
- Experience building enterprise-grade AI applications with governance, security, compliance, and responsible AI controls.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, cloud-native architectures, and software engineering best practices.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
These will help you stand out
- Experience integrating OpenAI, Claude, Llama, Mistral, or other foundation models into enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of Knowledge Graphs, Ontologies, Graph Databases, and advanced AI reasoning techniques.
- Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI agent frameworks, and enterprise AI orchestration platforms.
- Familiarity with Data Mesh, Data Fabric, MLOps, model monitoring, and AI observability practices.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Relevant certifications such as SnowPro Advanced Certification, Snowflake AI Certifications, Microsoft Azure AI Engineer Associate, AWS Machine Learning Specialty, or Databricks Generative AI Certification.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $130,000- $150,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
