Job Summary
We are seeking a Lead SDET - GenAI & Financial Services to drive quality engineering initiatives across innovative financial services platforms. This role combines deep expertise in test automation, data validation, and software quality assurance with hands-on experience in Generative AI, AI Agents, and Agentic AI frameworks. The ideal candidate will lead quality efforts for complex applications, leveraging AI-powered solutions to enhance test coverage, automation efficiency, defect analysis, and overall delivery quality.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial services, experience testing data-intensive applications, and a solid understanding of modern AI technologies including LLMs, RAG-based solutions, AI agents, and intelligent automation workflows.

About the Role
As a Lead SDET - GenAI & Financial Services, you will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive quality engineering strategies for enterprise financial applications. You will lead automation efforts using Java or Python, develop scalable test frameworks, and ensure the accuracy, reliability, and performance of critical business systems.
A key aspect of this role is leveraging GenAI and Agentic AI technologies to transform traditional testing practices. You will apply AI-powered tools to improve test design, automate complex validation scenarios, accelerate defect triage, and support intelligent quality engineering processes. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate AI-driven solutions, including applications utilizing LLMs, RAG architectures, AI agents, and orchestration frameworks.
The ideal candidate combines strong automation testing expertise with a practical understanding of AI technologies and financial services platforms. Experience working with large datasets, APIs, databases, market or financial data platforms, cloud environments, and modern CI/CD practices will be highly valued.

In This Role, You Will
· Perform functional and automation testing for Capital Markets ensuring quality, reliability, and performance.
· Understanding of index methodologies, benchmark indices, and capital markets
data, experience in validating index calculations, market data, reference data, and
benchmark-related financial applications or similar capital markets platforms.
· Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Java or Python, and execute
regression, API, and end-to-end testing.
· Validate data using SQL, databases, ETL pipelines, and Data Services to ensure
data accuracy and integrity.
· Demonstrate AI fluency by leveraging AI-powered tools and Agentic AI/GenAI
assistants to improve test design, test automation, defect analysis, root cause
investigation, and overall QE productivity.
· Demonstrate hands-on experience with GenAI and Agentic AI technologies,
including designing, developing, testing, or supporting Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, AI agents, Agentic AI frameworks, and intelligent automation workflows.
· Strong understanding of LLM-driven architectures, prompt engineering,
orchestration frameworks, and practical implementation of AI-powered solutions is
required.
· Work with market data, pricing, reference data, index calculation, or similar financial
applications.
· Experienced testing in high-volume, low-latency, real-time data platforms in Financial
Services is highly preferred.

Required Qualifications
· 8+ years of experience in complete software testing activities.
· Experience with Capital Market and FinTech is ideal
· Experience with Index/Benchmarks, Asset Management, or Portfolio Investment modeling
· Experience with Market Data such as Equity, Forex or Options asset classes preferred and will be given preference.
· Hands on experience working with testing frameworks, Selenium web driver, Cucumber
· Hands on experience with Object oriented language like Java or Python
· Hands on experience with test frameworks like Carina, Karate would be plus
· Knowledge of cloud technology (AWS preferred)
· Experience in SQL a must. Knowledge of PL/SQL, No SQL DB, Linux/UNIX, Jenkins preferred
· Experience in supporting test strategy activities, particularly in integration of multiple applications and systems
· Experience in evaluating testing technologies , conducting test strategy design and test script code reviews
· Experience with GenAI and Agentic AI technologies,
· including designing, developing, testing, or supporting Retrieval-Augmented Generation
(RAG) solutions, AI agents, Agentic AI frameworks, and intelligent automation
workflows. Strong understanding of LLM-driven architectures, prompt engineering,
orchestration frameworks, and practical implementation of AI-powered solutions is
preferred.
· Excellent communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until September 13th, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $70,000 - $112,500 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
