About the role
As a Senior Java Cloud Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and deploying scalable analytics and enterprise applications on modern cloud platforms. You will be a valued member of the engineering team, collaborating closely with product managers, technical leads, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality cloud-native solutions that drive business outcomes.

In this role, you will:
Design and implement scalable analytics and enterprise application solutions using Java technologies and cloud platforms.
Partner with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, provide technical recommendations, and lead solution discussions.
Develop high-quality, maintainable code following industry best practices, coding standards, and automated testing requirements.
Build, test, and deploy cloud-native applications while ensuring reliability, performance, and production readiness.
Define application architecture, monitoring, and technical documentation while mentoring and supporting development teams.

What you need to have to be considered
9+ years of experience developing applications using Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring Data JPA.
Hands-on experience with at least one public cloud platform such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or AWS. Azure experience is preferred.
Strong experience with Kafka or other messaging and event-streaming technologies.
Experience designing and developing large-scale, high-volume, distributed applications.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies, and Kubernetes in Agile delivery environments.
These will help you stand out
Experience building cloud-native analytics platforms and data-driven applications.
Knowledge of microservices architecture and modern application design patterns.
Experience implementing monitoring, observability, and production support solutions.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical decisions.
Experience mentoring developers and contributing to technical architecture and design documentation.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $81,337 to $141,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
