About the Role
Hands-on Pega developer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-quality Pega applications. Hands-on experience with the Pega Smart Claims Engine framework, along with working knowledge of technical architecture, integration patterns, and data models aligned with healthcare industry standards (HIPAA, EDI, 835, 837).
In this role, you will:
• Strong experience developing, configuring, unit testing, and optimizing Pega applications and components, following Pega best practices, design patterns, coding standards, and performance optimization techniques.
• Expertise in implementing Pega class structures, workflow/process flows, UI models, integrations, and reusable assets to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing healthcare solutions.
• Healthcare domain experience is required, with knowledge of healthcare operations; healthcare claims processing experience is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot defects, perform root cause analysis, and solve complex technical problems using strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments, participating in sprint ceremonies, code reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with distributed/onshore teams.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies, contribute innovative ideas, and work effectively in a hybrid environment.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered
• 5+ years of hands-on Pega Platform (PRPC) development experience, including application design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
• Strong experience with Pega Automated Testing, Pega Unit Testing Framework (PUTF), test automation, and software quality assurance best practices.
• Expertise in Facets modules including Claims, Membership, Billing, and Provider, with a solid understanding of healthcare payer operations.
• Experience with healthcare claims processing and EDI transactions, including EDI 835 and EDI 837, supporting end-to-end claims lifecycle management.
• Proven experience supporting System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and regression testing, including defect analysis and resolution.
• Strong knowledge of Pega Reporting, Pega Mobility/Mobile Solutions, integrations, troubleshooting, and automated testing methodologies in enterprise environments.

The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. This position also qualifies for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, contingent on performance and applicable plan terms.
