We are seeking an innovative AI Automation Test Engineer to lead the transformation of our Quality Engineering practices across critical business domains. You will architect and implement AI-driven testing solutions to enhance efficiency, coverage, and accuracy across our brand marketing, compensation, and database testing initiatives.
In this role, you will
- Design AI Testing Solutions: Develop intelligent testing frameworks and utilities that leverage AI/ML to automate complex testing scenarios across diverse project domains.
- Assess Current Testing Scope: Evaluate existing testing practices for brand marketing, compensation systems, and database validation; identify gaps and opportunities for AI enhancement.
- Build or Integrate AI Frameworks: Implement or customize AI frameworks for:
- Intelligent test case generation and prioritization.
- Anomaly detection in test results.
- Test coverage optimization.
- Automated test data generation.
- Shift Testing Perspective: Introduce new testing methodologies that leverage AI to move beyond traditional scripted testing toward predictive and adaptive testing models.
- Mentorship & Knowledge Transfer: Guide QE teams on new AI-powered tools, best practices, and collaborative workflows.
- Proof of Concepts: Deliver POCs demonstrating ROI on AI initiatives within 3-6 months.
Required skills
- 5-10 years of software engineering or QA/testing experience.
- Must have 2+ years working with AI/ML technologies (Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or similar).
- Must have Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar languages.
- Must have strong background in test automation frameworks (Selenium, Appium, REST APIs, etc.).
- Experience with data analysis and statistical validation.
- Familiarity with testing domains (functional, performance, database, API testing).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred skills
- Experience with LLM applications for test automation or documentation.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Published work or contributions to AI/testing communities.
- Familiarity with banking/financial systems testing.

Total compensation:
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 70,000 – 90,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
Working arrangements
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.
