We are seeking a Appium Mobile Automation Test Analyst with strong expertise in Web and Mobile automation, This role requires hands-on expertise in mobile test automation using Appium, strong coding skills in Java. You will be responsible for building reliable test automation frameworks for iOS and Android apps, ensuring scalable and high-quality mobile releases. for our banking clients.
In this role, you will
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Appium for Android and iOS platforms.
• Build and enhance mobile test automation frameworks using Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Execute manual and automated tests across mobile platforms to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Perform cross-platform testing and test applications on different devices, browsers, screen sizes, and OS versions.
• Perform API testing using Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools for mobile app backend services.
• Identify, analyze, and report defects effectively, and work collaboratively to resolve issues.
• Work closely with developers and other QA team members to integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline and ensure continuous quality improvement.
Required skills
• Overall 5 to 8 years of IT experience focused on QA software testing with strong hands-on experience with automation testing mobile applications.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Appium testing for iOS & Android Devices.
• The last 4-5 years should have been in Web and Mobile testing using Selenium Web Driver and Appium.
• Hands on experience on test automation for hybrid and native mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of Appium concepts (desired capabilities, locators, gestures, waits, driver lifecycle, etc.)
• Must have experience in mobile testing and setting up automation frameworks.
• Experience in API Testing (REST APIs using Postman / Playwright / custom frameworks).
• Ability to analyze and translate requirements and development stories into test scripts to ensure complete test coverage.
• Proficient in using GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Familiarity with test management tools like Jira, Azure DevOps.
Preferred skills
• Banking domain experience.
• Experience implementing test frameworks from scratch for mobile and/or web.

Total compensation:
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 65,000 – 90,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
Working arrangements
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto.
