About the role
As a Disaster Recovery Governance Lead, you will drive impactful contributions and focus on outcomes. You will be a key member of the Corporate Security Disaster Recovery Governance team, collaborating with business units, corporate functions, BCM teams, resilience leads, technology teams, application owners, and leadership stakeholders globally. You will have the autonomy to lead, innovate, and improve disaster recovery governance frameworks while upholding our commitment to quality and continuous learning. In this role, you will:
- Provide disaster recovery resilience expertise for potential disaster scenarios to ensure technology infrastructure, applications, and services meet internal and external resilience requirements.
- Maintain and enhance disaster recovery policies, frameworks, processes, testing standards, templates, and governance documentation to ensure ongoing usability and audit readiness.
- Lead and support disaster recovery testing activities, including test planning, execution, reporting, recovery validation, and restoration updates to leadership.
- Collaborate with BCM teams, resilience leads, business units, and corporate functions to align recovery strategies, BIAs, BC/DR plans, and ServiceNow BCM data requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement by researching emerging disaster recovery technologies, industry standards, and best practices while providing subject matter expertise across the enterprise.

What you must have to be considered
- 10+ years of overall experience, including approximately 5-7 years of disaster recovery planning and implementation experience within a large organization or consulting environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Thorough understanding of Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) processes aligned with ISO 22301, NIST, ITIL, and other industry standards.
- Recognized DR or BCM certifications such as ISO 22301 Lead Auditor/Implementer, CBCP/ABCP, FBCI/MBCI/AMBCI, EDRP, or equivalent certifications.
- Strong knowledge of IT business continuity, cybersecurity, integrated risk management, disaster recovery practices, infrastructure technologies, cloud platforms, application recovery, and air-gap recovery strategies.
- Experience managing disaster recovery testing, governance programs, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across complex enterprise environments.
- Excellent communication, project management, organizational, and influencing skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- A strong sense of ownership, desire to create meaningful outcomes, and passion for work that serves a greater good for customers, communities, or global challenges.

- Experience with ServiceNow BCM modules and related resilience management platforms.
- Expertise in creating disaster recovery test plans across diverse technologies and application stacks.
- Experience working with global, cross-functional, and virtual teams across multiple time zones.
- Knowledge of emerging disaster recovery technologies and resilience trends.
- Proficiency with GenAI tools, including effective prompting and context-setting techniques.
- Previous people leadership or team management experience.
