About the role
We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Technical Lead with 8–12 years of experience to drive the development of scalable, cloud-enabled applications. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will work with Java (Spring Boot) and Angular/Node.js, while guiding a team of engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, drive best practices, and oversee end-to-end delivery. The role also involves working with cloud platforms, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable deployments.

Roles & Responsibilities (Day-to-Day Activities)
- Lead end-to-end architecture and design by defining scalable, reusable, and cloud-native full stack solutions covering backend services and frontend integration.
- Drive hands-on development of critical features using Java (Spring Boot) and Angular/Node.js, ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.
- Own technical decision-making, acting as the primary technical anchor for architecture, technology selection, and system design.
- Mentor and lead the engineering team by conducting code reviews and promoting best practices in coding, testing, and design.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, architects, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Drive cloud and DevOps adoption, including development and deployment on AWS/Azure/OpenShift, and containerization using Docker/Kubernetes.
- Optimize and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) to ensure efficient delivery workflows.
- Promote AI-driven development practices using tools like GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity and code quality.
- Ensure system quality by addressing non-functional requirements such as performance, security, scalability, and reliability.
- Oversee delivery outcomes, managing risks, dependencies, and ensuring timely project completion.
- Support production systems through monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization using tools like Splunk/Dynatrace.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement by introducing automation, improving processes, and reducing technical debt.
Required Qualifications (Must-Have Skills & Experience)
8–12 years of strong experience in Full Stack Development.
Expertise in Java (Spring Boot, Microservices architecture).
Strong experience with Angular or Node.js for frontend/backend integration.
Proven expertise in architecture and system design.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or OpenShift).
Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
Experience in building and managing CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions.
Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, design patterns, and best practices.
Proficiency in Git (branching, merging, version control workflows).
Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace.
Demonstrated leadership experience including team management, mentoring, and coaching.
Exposure to AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot or similar.
Salary and Other Compensation:

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $74,250 CAD – $117,500 CAD per year.
Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
