About Role
The world of Generative AI is evolving at an unprecedented pace, and organizations need bold engineers who can turn cutting-edge AWS capabilities into real, production-ready solutions. As an AWS GenAI Engineer at Cognizant, you will take on the exciting challenge of architecting and configuring a robust, AWS-based Generative AI platform from the ground up — bridging proof-of-concept innovation with full-scale production deployment.
You will be at the forefront of defining how intelligent, AI-driven applications are built, secured, and optimized, directly shaping outcomes for our clients in a fast-moving, high-impact environment.
How You Will Make an Impact
As an AWS GenAI Engineer, you will be a valued member of our Technology & Engineering team[1], collaborating closely with solution architects, data engineers, and AI specialists to deliver transformative GenAI capabilities at scale.
In this role, you will:
- Configure Amazon Bedrock models and inference profiles to power scalable, production-grade GenAI applications
- Build and manage Bedrock Knowledge Bases, including end-to-end metadata ingestion pipelines into PostgreSQL and Bedrock Knowledge Base
- Implement vector indexing and semantic search capabilities to enable highly relevant, context-aware AI responses
- Develop seamless API integrations between AWS services and the GenAI application, leveraging API Gateway and Lambda
- Optimize security posture, including IAM roles, networking configurations, and secrets management to ensure compliance and data protection
- Monitor and optimize LLM performance and costs using CloudWatch and AWS-native tooling to drive efficiency at scale
At Cognizant, we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is an onsite position in the Netherlands. The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you're engaged in, as well as business and client requirements. Rest assured; we will always be clear about role expectations.[1]
What You Must Have to Be Considered
- Proven hands-on experience with AWS services, including Amazon Bedrock, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch
- Practical knowledge of Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases and the ability to configure and manage them end-to-end
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL and building metadata ingestion pipelines for AI/GenAI workloads
- Proficiency in Python for developing backend logic, automation scripts, and API integrations
- Demonstrated experience in GenAI application deployment, including vector indexing, semantic search configuration, and LLM cost optimization
These Will Help You Stand Out
- Experience transitioning GenAI proof-of-concept (POC) projects into production environments
- Familiarity with advanced Amazon Bedrock inference profile configurations and model fine-tuning
- Knowledge of AWS networking best practices and secrets management (e.g., AWS Secrets Manager)
- Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure costs at scale using AWS cost management tools
We're excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways. Don't hesitate to apply, even if you only meet the minimum requirements listed. Think about your transferable experiences and unique skills that make you stand out as someone who can bring new and exciting things to this role.[2]
