About the Role
We are seeking a talented and commercially minded lawyer to join our Commercial Legal team in EMEA. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified legal professional with at least three years of post-qualification experience gained in an international law firm or a multinational corporate environment.
You will play a key role in supporting Cognizant's business across the Benelux region while also contributing to strategic opportunities across Continental Europe. Working closely with sales, delivery, technology and leadership teams, you will advise on a broad range of commercial transactions and technology-related matters, helping to drive business growth while managing legal risk.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide legal support on commercial and technology transactions across the Benelux region.
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of agreements, including consulting, outsourcing, cloud, digital transformation and technology services contracts.
- Support client engagements throughout the entire deal lifecycle, from proposal and bid reviews through contract negotiations and post-signature matters.
- Advise business stakeholders on legal, commercial, operational, intellectual property and GDPR-related issues.
- Partner with sales, delivery and executive leadership teams to support strategic business initiatives.
- Contribute to the continued growth and success of Cognizant's European business operations.
About Our Legal Team
The EMEA Legal team consists of approximately 60 lawyers across 13 countries. Our team brings together specialists in commercial law, technology, privacy, employment law, M&A and corporate compliance. We work collaboratively across borders to provide practical, business-focused legal advice that enables innovation and growth.
What You'll Bring
Essential Requirements
- Dutch Master's degree in Law.
- Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in a law firm and/or multinational corporate environment.
- Strong commercial law experience.
- Experience working with IT, technology and digital services contracts.
- Knowledge of GDPR and intellectual property matters.
- Native-level Dutch and fluent English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong negotiation and drafting abilities.
- Ability to balance legal risk with commercial and operational objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting public sector tenders and procurement processes.
- Additional European language skills such as French or German.
