Role Overview
Cognizant is seeking an experienced ETL Testing Lead / Data Analysis Specialist to join our Quality Engineering and Assurance team. This role is responsible for leading data validation initiatives, ensuring data quality, and supporting enterprise data transformation programs within complex cloud and data warehouse environments.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in ETL testing, data quality engineering, and data analysis, with hands-on experience validating large-scale data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms. This individual will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, developers, architects, and quality engineering teams to ensure high-quality, reliable, and accurate data solutions.
Healthcare industry experience is required for this role.

This position is fully remote within the United States, offering flexibility while collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple locations and time zones.
Key Responsibilities
ETL Testing & Data Validation
- Lead end-to-end ETL testing activities across enterprise data integration programs.
- Validate source-to-target data mappings and transformation logic across complex data platforms.
- Design, develop, and execute ETL test strategies, test cases, test scripts, and validation processes.
- Verify data movement, transformation accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems.
- Conduct regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing for data initiatives.
- Identify, document, track, and resolve data-related defects and production issues.
Data Analysis & Quality Engineering
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, anomalies, patterns, and business insights.
- Perform data profiling, data reconciliation, and root cause analysis to support quality initiatives.
- Validate business rules and data transformation requirements to ensure accurate processing.
- Drive data quality improvements and support enterprise data governance initiatives.
- Execute data cleansing and validation activities to improve data integrity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement data quality standards and metrics.
SQL Development & Query Analysis
- Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries for testing and analysis activities.
- Create data validation scripts and automated validation processes where appropriate.
- Support ongoing analysis of data quality issues and performance optimization opportunities.
- Conduct source-to-target reconciliations across multiple databases and cloud environments.
Cloud & Data Platform Testing
- Validate data pipelines and workflows across cloud-based architectures.
- Support testing activities involving AWS services and enterprise data platforms.
- Verify data integrations between cloud systems, APIs, and downstream applications.
- Monitor and assess data movement processes to ensure operational stability.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, developers, architects, and product owners.
- Participate in requirements reviews and contribute to test strategy development.
- Provide testing status updates, risk assessments, and quality metrics to project stakeholders.
- Support defect triage sessions and help drive issue resolution efforts.
Continuous Improvement
- Recommend improvements to ETL testing processes, automation approaches, and quality assurance practices.
- Identify opportunities to increase testing efficiency and improve data quality outcomes.
- Mentor junior team members on data validation, ETL testing, and quality engineering best practices.
- Contribute to the development of reusable testing frameworks and accelerators.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is anticipated to be between $115,000 and $120,000 USD, depending on experience, qualifications, geographic location, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for:
- Annual performance-based bonus
- Merit-based compensation increases
- Employee referral bonuses, where applicable
