About the role
As an Insurance Domain Expert, you will make an impact by driving business development across our insurance advisory and technology practice — engaging life insurers, general insurers, reinsurers, insurance brokers, and InsurTech players to develop and close strategic engagements. As a trusted advisor, you will shape CX-CRM solutions across underwriting, claims, distribution, actuarial, and regulatory domains, and build long-term relationships at the C-suite and functional leadership levels, bringing deep insurance domain expertise to every pursuit. You will be a valued member of the Cognizant Moment (Business Development) team and work collaboratively with delivery, technology, and account teams, as well as senior client stakeholders across the insurance industry.
In this role, you will
- Serve as the primary domain authority on insurance products, processes, and regulations across Life & Annuities, P&C, Health & Group Benefits, Commercial & Specialty Lines, Reinsurance, and Distribution & Claims, and co-create tailored solutions spanning core system modernisation, distribution analytics, fraud detection, and regulatory compliance.
- Shape and close deals built on platforms such as Salesforce, Adobe, Genesys, and AWS Contact Center, ensuring solutions are designed around policyholder data privacy, suitability, claims-handling, and consent requirements.
- Conduct discovery workshops, As-Is assessments, and strategic roadmap sessions with senior client stakeholders, and deliver senior-level presentations that drive alignment and decisions.
- Act as a trusted advisor through the full client lifecycle — from initial outreach and solution scoping through delivery oversight and account expansion — and represent the firm at IRDAI forums, CII events, industry summits, and InsurTech conferences to strengthen brand visibility and generate qualified leads.
- Contribute to the development of insurance practice offerings, point-of-view papers, and thought leadership content, monitor regulatory developments to translate them into go-to-market opportunities, and mentor junior consultants to support practice growth.

- Comprehensive knowledge of the insurance value chain: product development, underwriting, policy administration, claims, reinsurance, and distribution.
- Familiarity with insurance compliance and regulatory requirements (KYC/AML, suitability/best-interest, GDPR/CCPA, IRDAI/NAIC/EIOPA-FCA) and how they shape CX & Digital Experience solution design.
- Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Finance, Business, or a related field, together with strong executive presence and excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
These will help you stand out
- MBA, FIII/AIII, or ACII designation.
