About the Role
As a Senior .NET Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, building, and delivering modern web applications and microservices that drive business outcomes and support digital transformation initiatives. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, quality engineering teams, architects, and third-party partners to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing software solutions.

In This Role, You Will:
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise web applications and microservices across on-premises and cloud-native environments.
Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable software solutions that align with organizational goals.
Collaborate with business users, quality engineering teams, and external partners to deliver enhancements, releases, and continuous improvements throughout the software development lifecycle.
Leverage AI-powered development tools and modern engineering practices to accelerate development, improve code quality, and support rapid prototyping and innovation.
Create and maintain technical documentation while ensuring adherence to security, compliance, and software engineering best practices.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Irvine, California.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered
5+ years of hands-on experience developing web applications and microservices using C#/.NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL Server, and React or Angular.
5+ years of experience designing, architecting, implementing, and deploying enterprise applications in both on-premises and cloud-native environments.
Strong expertise in modern software engineering practices, application architecture, and full software development lifecycle methodologies.
Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools and large language model (LLM)-based coding agents to improve development productivity, code quality, and solution delivery.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
These Will Help You Stand Out
Experience building and deploying applications on public cloud platforms.
Knowledge of microservices architecture, API design, and distributed systems.
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions, mentor team members, and influence architectural decisions.
Experience driving innovation through AI-enabled software engineering practices and emerging technologies.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $68,422 to $114,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
