Role: Network Administrator

Location: New York, NY ( Hybrid)

Job Role:

  • Troubleshooting & Health Checks: Conduct basic network troubleshooting, verify interface statuses, and continuously monitor device health (CPU, memory, temperature)
  • Circuit & ISP Management: Monitor WAN circuits, track ISP outages, and coordinate with service providers for resolution.
  • Operational Reporting: Complete daily operational health checks and generate status reports for the incoming team.
  • Maintenance & Maintenance Upgrades: Demonstrating proficiency in executing network device firmware and Cisco IOS upgrades during scheduled maintenance windows.

Wireless Infrastructure Support

  • Aruba Environment Monitoring: Monitor the health, connectivity, and performance of wireless access points within an Aruba environment.
  • Wireless Troubleshooting: Perform basic troubleshooting for wireless connectivity issues and user access problems. Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience & Core Systems

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or network support role (L1/L2).
  • Monitoring & Ticketing: Hands-on experience with SolarWinds and ServiceNow

Routing, Switching & Infrastructure

  • Cisco Infrastructure: Solid understanding of Cisco switches and routers.
  • Networking Protocols: Foundational knowledge of routing protocols, VLANs, and SVIs (Switch Virtual Interfaces).
  • OS Management: Proficiency in performing IOS and firmware upgrades safely on live equipment.

Security & Application Delivery (Preferred / Basic Understanding)

  • Firewalls: Basic understanding and operational awareness of Check Point firewall technology.
  • Load Balancing & Delivery: Foundational knowledge of F5 Big-IP systems, with a strong preference for the F5 R-Series platform.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $95,000 to $110,000 yearly depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
