Deskside support Engineer
Job summary
GeoSpatial Analyst MAP will analyze interpret and visualize geospatial data to support field services planning asset management and operational decision making in a hybrid work environment. The role involves building accurate maps generating insights from spatial patterns and collaborating with cross functional teams to enhance service efficiency safety and sustainability while working standard day shifts with no travel requirements.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex spatial datasets from multiple sources to create accurate maps and geospatial layers that improve planning and execution of field services activities in a hybrid work model.
- Develop and maintain detailed geospatial databases and metadata that support reliable asset tracking and operational monitoring for cross functional stakeholders.
- Produce high quality map visualizations and spatial reports that clearly communicate patterns risks and opportunities to business teams for informed decision making.
- Apply advanced spatial analysis techniques to optimize service territories resource allocation and route efficiency for field operations teams.
- Integrate geospatial data with enterprise systems and dashboards to enable seamless access to location intelligence for day shift users.
- Collaborate with field services planners engineers and analysts to translate operational requirements into practical geospatial solutions that support company goals.
- Validate and clean geospatial data by performing rigorous quality checks to ensure accuracy consistency and compliance with internal standards.
- Document geospatial methodologies data sources and workflows to support knowledge sharing and repeatable analytical practices across projects.
- Support incident analysis and risk assessment by mapping critical assets environmental factors and service coverage gaps to guide mitigation strategies.
- Automate recurring spatial analysis tasks where feasible to increase productivity and reduce manual effort for routine map production activities.
- Provide guidance on geospatial best practices to colleagues by explaining data limitations appropriate use of spatial tools and interpretation of mapping outputs.
- Evaluate new geospatial tools and data sources to enhance analytical capabilities and align with evolving business needs in field services.
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives by analyzing spatial trends related to resource consumption environmental impact and community service coverage.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate proficiency in using geospatial analysis software and mapping tools to manage spatial data and produce operational maps for field services teams.
- Possess hands on experience with spatial data management including data import transformation projection handling and attribute editing for enterprise geodatabases.
- Apply strong analytical and problem solving abilities to interpret spatial relationships identify actionable insights and support business recommendations.
- Exhibit effective communication skills to present geospatial findings to non technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner during day shift collaboration.
- Show practical understanding of field services processes and workflows to design geospatial solutions that align with real world operational constraints.
- Utilize basic programming or scripting knowledge as a desirable capability to streamline data processing and automate elements of geospatial analysis.
Demonstrate attention to detail and commitment to data quality when reviewing spatial layers resolving discrepancies and maintaining documentation for audits.
Certifications Required
Preferred certifications include Esri ArcGIS Desktop Entry or equivalent geospatial certification aligned with mapping and spatial analysis.
