About the Role
As a Java L2/L3 Support Developer, you will make an impact by ensuring the stability, resilience, and continuous improvement of business-critical healthcare applications built on modern Java microservices. You will be a valued member of the Application Development and Maintenance team and work collaboratively with development, DevOps, infrastructure, database, business, and distributed support teams.
In this role, you will
· Work in L2/L3 production support for OneCM Java microservices, maintaining application availability and adherence to service-level commitments.
· Own critical incident triage and resolution, lead major-incident bridge calls, complete root-cause analyses, and drive permanent corrective and preventive actions.
· Monitor application health, logs, integrations, and performance using Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, and Prometheus; provide actionable service metrics and trend reporting.
· Manage deployment validation, configuration, troubleshooting, smoke testing, and rollback planning across Kubernetes, OpenShift, and other container platforms.
· Guide distributed support engineers and partner with development, DevOps, infrastructure, database, and business teams to improve service quality, documentation, automation, and operational readiness.

What you need to have to be considered
· 6+ year of strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise Java applications built with Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and API gateways.
· Proven experience with incident, problem, change, release, production-checkout, and break-fix processes in an ITIL-aligned support environment.
· Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes or OpenShift, cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud, and CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
· Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, Kafka, and production troubleshooting across integrated application environments.
· Experience using observability platforms such as Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, and Prometheus, together with Python, PowerShell, or similar.
These will help you stand out
· Healthcare, clinical, or care-management application experience.
· Experience leading onshore and offshore production-support teams and mentoring support engineers.
· Practical use of AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, GPT, Gemini, or OpenAI solutions to enhance code analysis, automation, and support productivity.
· Experience creating self-healing scripts, automated alerts, runbooks, knowledge articles, and operational dashboards.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $90,000, depending on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
In addition to salary, this role is eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, subject to individual and company performance.
