Purpose of the Role
As Delivery Lead (d/f/m) – IT Infrastructure Services, you will take end-to-end responsibility for the successful delivery of IT infrastructure managed services for a key customer.
You will connect strategy with execution, bringing together infrastructure operations, service management, programmes and projects to ensure contractual commitments are met and transformation initiatives deliver the expected results.
Acting as a key interface with senior customer stakeholders, you will provide direction across a broad infrastructure landscape including Data Centre, Cloud, Network, Workplace Services, Service Management, Service Desk, Tooling, AI and Automation.
This is an opportunity for an experienced infrastructure delivery professional who can see the big picture while maintaining control of operational performance, budgets, risks, resources and delivery.
What You’ll Do
Strategy, Customer & Service Leadership
- Lead the implementation and execution of IT infrastructure support and operating models across areas such as cloud, data centre, network, security, service management and tooling.
- Serve as a key customer interface for infrastructure services, engaging effectively with senior and mid-level stakeholders.
- Translate strategic priorities into practical operational, programme and project objectives.
- Support transition and transformation roadmaps while continuously aligning customer expectations, contractual commitments and identified delivery gaps.
- Establish appropriate priorities and requirements by balancing business value, risk, resources, benefits and budget.
- Represent infrastructure programmes in customer and internal governance, including weekly and monthly reporting and steering meetings.
- Ensure adherence to contractual commitments and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Delivery & Programme Management
- Oversee programme and project performance, ensuring agreed milestones, budgets and outcomes remain visible and controlled.
- Facilitate effective decision-making and approval processes across programmes and projects.
- Manage the overall budget for operations, programmes and projects, including actuals and forecasting, in partnership with Finance.
- Manage stakeholder expectations around resource availability, demand forecasts and programme/project benefits.
- Ensure global IT projects have appropriate resource planning, communication, progress tracking, metrics, requirements, technical and functional documentation, and issue-resolution processes.
- Identify delivery risks and ensure appropriate mitigating actions are implemented and communicated to stakeholders and relevant governance boards.
- Maintain a clear view across operational delivery and transformation so dependencies, priorities and potential issues can be addressed early.
What You Bring
We are looking for someone who combines strong infrastructure knowledge with delivery leadership and customer-facing capability.
You bring:
- Experience in IT infrastructure delivery management, ideally within complex managed-services environments.
- The ability to connect strategy, tactical planning, infrastructure operations and project execution.
- Experience working across infrastructure disciplines such as cloud, data centre, networking, workplace services, service management, service desk and tooling.
- Strong planning and organisational capability, combined with the ability to retain a strategic, big-picture perspective.
- A results-focused approach and the ability to maintain momentum across multiple teams and workstreams.
- Strong stakeholder communication, with the confidence to engage and align senior customer representatives.
- Experience coordinating or leading IT support teams, project managers and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Sound judgement and the ability to make clear decisions when required.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- The ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure delivery situations.
Leadership Competencies
Leadership & Collaboration
You lead by example and create the conditions for teams to succeed. You are comfortable coordinating operational teams and project professionals, delegating effectively and establishing clear ownership of goals and activities.
Stakeholder Management
You communicate clearly across technical, operational and executive audiences. You can facilitate difficult conversations, negotiate competing priorities and create cooperation across organisational boundaries.
Decision-Making
You favour evidence-based decisions, maintain visibility of relevant business and technology developments and are prepared to make clear decisions when circumstances require them.
Commercial & Delivery Focus
You understand that successful infrastructure delivery means balancing service quality, contractual obligations, customer expectations, risk, resources, budget and transformation objectives.
Why This Role?
This position gives you the opportunity to influence both day-to-day infrastructure service delivery and longer-term transformation. Rather than managing a single technology tower or individual project, you will work across the infrastructure landscape and help turn strategic commitments into measurable delivery.
If you enjoy bringing customers, operations and project teams together, navigating complex infrastructure environments and taking ownership from strategy through execution, we’d be pleased to hear from you.
Interested? Apply and tell us how you have successfully connected infrastructure operations, customer expectations and transformation delivery in your previous roles.
