As a Senior Automation QA Engineer specializing in Wealth Management, you will lead the quality strategy for high-stakes financial applications, focusing on robust UI, API, and performance testing. You will build sophisticated automation frameworks using Selenium and Playwright, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, enterprise-scale deployments.
In this role, you will
- UI, API, and performance testing efforts for complex, enterprise‑scale Insurance and Wealth/Capital Markets applications.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Selenium, Playwright, Java, Python, and JavaScript.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and faster release cycles.
- Plan and execute performance testing using JMeter; analyze results and provide actionable insights to improve system stability and scalability.
- Track and report automation metrics to optimize regression coverage, execution efficiency, and overall test effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, DevOps, and business stakeholders in Agile/Scrum environments.
Required skills
- Overall 6-10 years of experience in QA automation testing for Insurance and Wealth/Capital Markets applications.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, building, and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
- Strong coding skills in Java, Python, and JavaScript.
- Subject matter expertise in Insurance, Wealth Management, or Capital Markets.
- Skills in integrating automated suites into continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
- Experience integrating test suites into pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions) to enable Continuous Testing.
- Ability to track and report on automation metrics (e.g., regression coverage, execution efficiency) to drive process improvements.
Preferred skills
- Subject matter expertise in Insurance, Wealth Management, or Capital Markets.
- Experience planning and executing performance tests specifically using JMeter.

Total compensation:
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 70,000 – 90,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
Working arrangements
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON.
